[Bug 1377145] Re: inconsistent use of colour for restart menu when changing language
'Cancel' & 'Confirm' on the 'Display Language' page: I think the choice of bottom colours here is like the 'Custom Settings' in the 'Background settings' where you can 'Add image' or 'Remove Image' - similar pattern is used there where the 'Remove image' is a lighter inactive grey button - but these don't hold the same context as 'Cancel' or 'Confirm' in the display language. I think there needs to be more of a gauge in inactive and active state buttons. In this case though I think 'Cancel' - should be red and 'Confirm' in a lighter green, until it becomes active, which then turns to solid green as a positive action. As 'Confirm' & 'Cancel' are actions, I think throughout the UI we should stick to a consistency in the way we portray importance in the colours we use. As otherwise, in this case there's no definition in how important the actions are. Same applies to 'Restart now' and 'Cancel' in the restart screen, should be consistent in colour. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1377145 Title: inconsistent use of colour for restart menu when changing language To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1377145/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1031217] [NEW] networkmanager+dnsmasq implementation seems to break DNS resolution for virtualbox VMs
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 12.04, the way networkmanager now defaults to using dnsmasq as a local resolver seems to break many VM configuration using VirtualBox, because VirtualBox's DHCP server tries to inherit the host's DNS configuration and provide it to the guest. In the default configuration, the only DNS server visible to applications is the dnsmasq server, which is accessable only from localhost. The end result is that a virtual machine that configures networking via DHCP will inherit no working DNS servers, resulting in reconfigured DNS in the guest. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dnsmasq virtualbox -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1031217 Title: networkmanager+dnsmasq implementation seems to break DNS resolution for virtualbox VMs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1031217/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: I installed bugzilla through Synaptic on Ubuntu 10.10. Didn't change any config. Uninstalled it through Synaptic. [Bug 630193] Re: Erratic behavior with Wacom tablet
I'm having the same problem with the ThinkPad X41 Tablet when trying to use the stylus on those buttons. It seems to me that the problem has to do with the fact that the buttons can be dragged and since using the stylus most of the time generates some movement even when just clicking I think the click is being treated as a drag. I fixed it by installing the new kernel. Downloaded at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.32/, you have to download 3 files, image, headers and all, I don't remember the order now, but one won't proceed installation if something missing. It generates a crash report, just after plugging in any kind of device on peripherals ports or mounting partitions. Can be reproduced on Live CD, where you can actually use the devices and then comes the report, or after a fresh install, where the computer / laptop won't recognize the device and then shows the report before or after removing it. -- WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.31/arch/x86/kernel/check.c:134 check_for_bios_corruption+0xcb/0xe0() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/467053 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 237045] [NEW] Continued errors recieved after choosing not to provide the package files to installer package / package sun-java6-doc 6-06-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-insta
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sun-java6-doc Couldn't there be a better way to handle the removal of this half- installed installer package after deciding not to provide the requested archive file - right now you have to say "no" repeatedly when doing any package maintenance operation until you remove the sun-java6-doc package - leaving the package installed but in an unconfigured state in this case seems like wrong behavior - probably a dpkg limitation, but regardless, for similar packages where the package is just an installer, the behavior needs to improve so that a situation like this doesn't leave a mess behind. I'd think an acceptable workaround for now would be to explain additional actions required to clean up the error. (telling the user to run "sudo apt-get remove sun-java6-doc" at least points toward a solution) --- Setting up sun-java6-doc (6-06-0ubuntu1) ... This package is an installer package, it does not actually contain the JDK documentation.
