[Bug 1757668] Re: Please port your package away from Qt 4

2021-11-26 Thread Stephanie Mitchell
Good afternoon everyone!
You have clarified information about the service that works with Mac. Here
https://speedmymac.com/ a few months ago the guys helped me to improve the work
of my computer. I didn’t know who speed my mac was, and on the recommendation
of my friends I turned here. I didn’t regret it!

[Bug 1426471] Re: Guideline/documentation has no layout recommendation for buttons in dialogs

2015-08-03 Thread Stephanie
--

Desired resolution:

*Will be added to the guide in the new designs*

http://design.ubuntu.com/apps/getting-started/design-vision

When buttons are stacked vertically we recommend that negative actions
should be displayed at the bottom, and positive at the top.

http://design.ubuntu.com/apps/building-blocks/dialog

We will give best practises in this section for different layouts, but
in general the same rule applies.

https://developer.ubuntu.com/api/qml/sdk-14.04/Ubuntu.Components.Popups.Dialog/

Will hand this over to someone who can put another example in there for
a horizontal layout.

[Bug 1377145] Re: inconsistent use of colour for restart menu when changing language

2014-10-07 Thread Stephanie
'Cancel' & 'Confirm' on the 'Display Language' page:

I think the choice of bottom colours here is like the 'Custom Settings'
in the 'Background settings' where you can 'Add image' or 'Remove Image'
- similar pattern is used there where the 'Remove image' is a lighter
inactive grey button - but these don't hold the same context as 'Cancel'
or 'Confirm' in the display language. I think there needs to be more of
a gauge in inactive and active state buttons.

In this case though I think 'Cancel' - should be red and 'Confirm' in a
lighter green, until it becomes active, which then turns to solid green
as a positive action.

As 'Confirm' & 'Cancel' are actions, I think throughout the UI we should
stick to a consistency in the way we portray importance in the colours
we use. As otherwise, in this case there's no definition in how
important the actions are. Same applies to 'Restart now' and 'Cancel' in
the restart screen, should be consistent in colour.

[Bug 1369792] [NEW] Python yaml missing from mongodb install on precise and trusty

2014-09-15 Thread Stephanie
Public bug reported:

Hi there,

I've been having a problem getting mongodb to deploy. I believe that the
mongodb charm needs an 'apt-get install python-yaml' before calling hooks.py in
these files:
https://github.com/charms/mongodb/blob/precise/hooks/install
https://github.com/charms/mongodb/blob/trusty/hooks/install

based on this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/charms/+source/haproxy/+bug/1302642

I've tried now from linode with manual provisioning. I ended up adding
it to my node create script there. Today I tried to follow the Digital
Ocean Juju steps and deploying to 3 nodes fails all in the same spot
asking for python-yaml

Subject: [Bug 502920] Re: [needs-packaging] Canon UFR II driver needs packaging

Bob’s script depends on devscripts, libtool and automake.
on my 12.04 system it fails with "No package 'libglade-2.0' found" (I cannot
even install it, there is only a libglade2-0 package, which is already
installed)

But! there is a PPA now, from which I got packages that just worked. See

Also affects vagrant due to it's use of virtualbox, Seems to be
accounted for upstream https://github.com/mitchellh/vagrant/pull/909

Haven't tried to see if VMWare is affected by this too.

[Bug 1031217] [NEW] networkmanager+dnsmasq implementation seems to break DNS resolution for virtualbox VMs

2012-07-31 Thread Stephanie Daugherty
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 12.04, the way networkmanager now defaults to using dnsmasq as
a local resolver seems to break many VM configuration using VirtualBox,
because VirtualBox's DHCP server tries to inherit the host's DNS
configuration and provide it to the guest. In the default configuration,
the only DNS server visible to applications is the dnsmasq server, which
is accessable only from localhost.

The end result is that a virtual machine that configures networking via
DHCP will inherit no working DNS servers, resulting in reconfigured DNS
in the guest.

[Bug 810457] [NEW] Bugzilla uninstall - Symlink not removed from Apache conf.d

2011-07-14 Thread Stephanie Sieker
Public bug reported:

I installed bugzilla through Synaptic on Ubuntu 10.10. Didn't change
any config. Uninstalled it through Synaptic. It left a symlink in
/etc/apache2/conf.d/bugzilla3.conf which was pointing to a removed file.
This stopped Apache being able to start. Removing the symlink fixed the
issue.

windows closed. I think this is jaunty jackalope, from summer 2010.

[Bug 662009] Re: [Lenovo Y530 - Realtek ALC888] Regression from 10.04: No sound with snd_hda_intel model=lenovo-sky

2011-04-05 Thread Stephanie Duverge
@David. Well, it didn't worked. Here I have the link to a parallel
discussion on ubuntu forums, in order to try and solve this.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1648543&page=3

There is the list of errors I get, perhaps I made a mistake at
prematurely upgrading, just thought it would be solved by beta 1, hope
it's useful to work with it.

By the way, on this kernel, the file etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf does
not exist. I'm still trying to find out where is it now, or how it's
named.

[Bug 692277] [NEW] Only have Suspend option in Power Button menu in Try Ubuntu mode, Desktop 10.10 on USB

2010-12-19 Thread Stephanie Sayer
Public bug reported:

When booted into "Try Ubuntu" mode from the Ubuntu Desktop 10.10
installed on a USB stick, my ThinkPad X41 Tablet only shows the menu
option Suspend in the power button menu at the top right. The Restart,
Shutdown and other options that are normally there are not present. This
menu seems to be fine on the Netbook 10.10 release (but it doesn't even
have a file manager included in the base image).

As a work around one can open a terminal and use the shutdown command of
course but this seems like something that needs to be fixed for the base
release image.

[Bug 630193] Re: Erratic behavior with Wacom tablet

2010-12-05 Thread Stephanie Sayer
I'm having the same problem with the ThinkPad X41 Tablet when trying to
use the stylus on those buttons. It seems to me that the problem has to
do with the fact that the buttons can be dragged and since using the
stylus most of the time generates some movement even when just clicking
I think the click is being treated as a drag.

I think Unity needs to have a threshold or null zone for this drag
function on these buttons for tablets.

[Bug 448339] Re: Links from the start page do not work

2010-12-03 Thread Stephanie Sayer
Also happening for me with 10.10 booted in "Try Ubuntu" mode from USB
stick. The error is a little different than described as the URIs it
complains about work fine when opened in FireFox, i.e.:

The requested URI "http://www.ubuntu.com/support/free"; is invalid

This shouldn't be happening on a release. We can't update these as it
is.

2010-02-27 Thread Stephanie Duverge
I fixed it by installing the new kernel. Downloaded at
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.32/, you have to
download 3 files, image, headers and all, I don't remember the order
now, but one won't proceed installation if something missing. Good luck!

just browsing the web, listening music and watching videos. And trying

2009-11-04 Thread Stephanie Duverge
It generates a crash report, just after plugging in any kind of device
on peripherals ports or mounting partitions. Can be reproduced on Live
CD, where you can actually use the devices and then comes the report, or
after a fresh install, where the computer / laptop won't recognize the
device and then shows the report before or after removing it.

[Bug 304974] [NEW] Livejournal css errors

2008-12-03 Thread Stephanie
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Using latest Ubuntu release; this just started happening. I also use
Mozilla addon LiveJournal Addons. The error console is filled with
errors about being unable to read the CSS on certain page styles that it
used to read just fine--the CSS that defines margins.

[Bug 237045] [NEW] Continued errors recieved after choosing not to provide the package files to installer package / package sun-java6-doc 6-06-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-insta

2008-06-03 Thread Stephanie Daugherty
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sun-java6-doc

Couldn't there be a better way to handle the removal of this half-
installed installer package after deciding not to provide the requested
archive file - right now you have to say "no" repeatedly when doing any
package maintenance operation until you remove the sun-java6-doc package
- leaving the package installed but in an unconfigured state in this
case seems like wrong behavior - probably a dpkg limitation, but
regardless, for similar packages where the package is just an installer,
the behavior needs to improve so that a situation like this doesn't
leave a mess behind.

I'd think an acceptable workaround for now would be to explain
additional actions required to clean up the error. (telling the user to
run "sudo apt-get remove sun-java6-doc" at least points toward a
solution)

---

Setting up sun-java6-doc (6-06-0ubuntu1) ...
This package is an installer package, it does not actually contain the
JDK documentation. You will need to go download one of the
archives:

jdk-6-doc.zip jdk-6-doc-ja.zip

(choose the non-update version if this is the first installation).
Please visit

http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/

now and download. The file should be owned by root.root and be copied
to /tmp.
