[Bug 62116] Re: Firefox / Can't Import Bookmarks

2006-10-09 Thread Stephen Wilson
Although I found this bug annoying, it should not be classifies as
"critical." Even "medium" level of criticality is pushing it in my
opinion. I might add that, in terms of a workaround, copying my backup
bookmark HTML file into my new Firefox profile did not work for me.

[Bug 62116] Re: Firefox / Can't Import Bookmarks

2006-10-10 Thread Stephen Wilson
Your argument is very persuasive, Ralf. Philosophically, I'm not
convinced that we should be looking at Egdy from a new user perspective
as much as we did Dapper. In reality, I'm finding Edgy more usable and
with fewer breakages that I experienced with Dapper.

[Bug 62116] Re: Firefox / Can't Import Bookmarks

2006-10-12 Thread Stephen Wilson
Well, it IS definitely fixed with the full FF 2.0 release that was
recently downloaded through an update. Whether it was fixed upstream or
by Canonical, I'm not sure. I don't see the ability to mark it as fixed,
but I'm not a "subscriber" to the bug like you are. So, if you have an
option to "mark it fixed" in the Launchpad menu, then I think it is safe
to assume that you're allow to. Anyway, if you're not, I'm sure they'd

Evolution shipped with Dapper Drake. It's not critical, obviously,
because you can always select "All" manually, but it is annoying.

[Bug 90513] Re: weird document recovery attempt of openoffice after fullscreen slideshow with oo presentation

2007-05-18 Thread Stephen Wilson
I don't think it's an upstream bug, either. When I posted this problem
on OOo forums, no one else was having the issue. They recommended I
delete the Ubuntu version of OOo and install the "OEM" version directly
from OOo. When I did, the bug went away. So, it's pretty clear that the
bug was somehow introduced by Ubuntu.

[Bug 90513] Re: weird document recovery attempt of openoffice after fullscreen slideshow with oo presentation

2007-04-08 Thread Stephen Wilson
I also confirm the original post. Using up-to-date Feisty. Crash happens
with any presentation, new or existing and in any format.

[Bug 58942] Re: Evolution defaults to "Anniversary" category when selecting contacts

2006-10-28 Thread Stephen Wilson
I have the same behavior using evolution_2.8.1-0ubuntu4 in the final
release of Edge Eft. This behavior did not happen in the version of
Evolution shipped with Dapper Drake. It's not critical, obviously,
because you can always select "All" manually, but it is annoying.

Anyway, if you're not, I'm sure they'd
tell you.

[Bug 21074] Re: Totem: no visual effects until window is moved around the desktop

2007-03-25 Thread Stephen Wilson
I have the same issue with visualizations very slow to start in Totem.
It happens with Feisty Beta. Moving the Totem window or covering it has
no impact for me. Also happens with both local files and those opened
from my Edgy partition.

For the record, the crash does not happen when you download and install
the stock version with GNOME support directly from OO. So, I'm not sure
that there's anything wrong upstream.

Re: [Bug 96929] Re: Firefox plugin finder service not working

2007-04-06 Thread Stephen Wilson
When you come to a page that requires a plugin, you'll see a yellow bar
at the top. Click on it (or on the place on the Web page where it
indicates that there is a missing plugin needed) and the plugin finder
will automatically open and search for the proper plugin.
