failed installing 16.04 for the same reason.

[Bug 1896516] [NEW] Updated to 18.04 system hangs on boot

Hangs, last messages on screen are:

Recovery is via Grub and selecting the old last as installed Kernel
vmlinuz-4.4.0-179-generic

Please note that this has happened since I upgraded
1) Description: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
2) Release: 18.04
3)I expected to kernel to complete booting.
4)What happened was, it hangs, for hours.
