[Bug 1804541] Re: shotwell does not categorize MTS files into events
This is still an issue in 20.04.4, shotwell 0.30.10-0ubuntu0.1 The workaround of adding the MTS file to a mounted drive under /DCIM fails to import it to an event date corresponding to the recorded date of the video. Instead, it is imported for the current date. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1804541 Title: shotwell does not categorize MTS files into events To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-shotwell-plugin/+bug/1804541/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1830416] [NEW] Firefox shows multiple master password prompts on startup when user has multiple home tabs that require passwords
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS I have two URLs configured for Firefox startup. They are for different sites. Each one will go to a login page. I have a master password configured in Firefox. When I start Firefox, two tabs will open to the two URLs, and up until recently, I was prompted once for my master password. Once I entered it, my credentials would auto-fill on both tabs as expected. Today I noticed that on Firefox startup, I was getting two master password prompts. Although entering the master password for one would suffice, it is annoying to have to close out the second one. Also, the second one often pops up and steals focus from the first when I am entering the master password (depending on the relative page load times of the two tabs). I was running Firefox 66.0.5+build1-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 when I first noticed this. I updated to 67.0+build2-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 and the problem persists. [Bug 1827677] [NEW] Resume from suspend: nothing on display, unable to login
Public bug reported: This is 4.15.0-47-generic on a Dell Latitude 5580. Closing the laptop lid will suspend the system, and opening it will resume, and I normally get my xfce session or the xscreensaver unlock dialog. I recently suspended in this manner, but upon opening the laptop lid, nothing came up on the display. The power button was on, and the keyboard backlight responded to keypresses. Ctrl-Alt-PrtScr-[REISUB] had no discernible effect (PrtScr because I don't have SysRq on this keyboard). Neither did Ctrl-Alt-Del or Ctrl-Alt-F1 for a console. I needed to poweroff and poweron the laptop which of course caused the suspended session state to be lost. [Bug 1812941] [NEW] gnome-photos doesn't show any photos
Public bug reported: I launched gnome-photos for the first time (ever) after installing 3.28.0-1 on Xubuntu 18.04.1. Although the application indicates that pictures from my Pictures folder will appear, none actually appear. Clicking on the "Pictures folder" link opens up a file manager window to ~/Pictures in which I have several assorted images (mainly JPG format). I couldn't find a settings or preferences dialog. The application doesn't appear to provide the capability to do much of anything, actually. I couldn't figure out how to run the application in debug/verbose mode. Start Shotwell and > import them as if they were coming from a camera. Shotwell will now > successfully save them into the library with the correct creation date/time. I don't consider this to be a very viable workaround. The videos are on the camera memory card and so one would have to either copy them onto another USB drive with the suggested DCIM folder, or copy/move them from their native location on the camera filesystem to another location on the same filesystem. Either way, it's inconvenient, and not something that someone who regularly imports videos would want to suffer through more than a couple times. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1804541 Title: shotwell does not categorize MTS files into events To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1804541/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1810055] [NEW] Resume fails when suspending laptop with headphones plugged in
Public bug reported: This is Xubuntu 18.04.1, kernel 4.15.0-43-generic on a Dell Latitude 5580. I've found that if I have headphones plugged in when I suspend the system (either by closing the laptop lid, or by using Whisker menu > Power button > Suspend), then the system does not resume properly. It appears that a full boot occurs: Dell logo appears, followed by the Grub menu, and after selecting the boot option and booting, I get a new login session instead of my suspended one. I tried some combinations of booting, suspending and resuming with the headphones attached or detached. The 'yes'/'no' indicates whether the headphones were plugged in when I performed the operation. 'ok' indicates that the resume succeeded: after authenticating to xscreensaver, my previous session was resumed. [Bug 1804541] [NEW] shotwell does not categorize MTS files into events
Public bug reported: I have a Sony HDR-CX675 which produces MTS video files. If I play any of my MTS videos with parole, the date and time are displayed on the video (I don't know why parole does this, but that's a separate issue. The point is that parole is able to figure out the date/time of the video, so shotwell should, too). $ ffprobe 00012.MTS ffprobe version 3.4.4-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 Copyright (c) 2007-2018 the FFmpeg developers built with gcc 7 (Ubuntu 7.3.0-16ubuntu3) configuration: --prefix=/usr --extra-version=0ubuntu0.18.04.1 --toolchain=hardened --libdir=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu --incdir=/usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu --enable-gpl --disable-stripping --enable-avresample --enable-avisynth --enable-gnutls --enable-ladspa --enable-libass --enable-libbluray --enable-libbs2b --enable-libcaca --enable-libcdio --enable-libflite --enable-libfontconfig --enable-libfreetype --enable-libfribidi --enable-libgme --enable-libgsm --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libmysofa --enable-libopenjpeg --enable-libopenmpt --enable-libopus --enable-libpulse --enable-librubberband --enable-librsvg --enable-libshine --enable-libsnappy --enable-libsoxr --enable-libspeex --enable-libssh --enable-libtheora --enable-libtwolame --enable-libvorbis --enable-libvpx --enable-libwavpack --enable-libwebp --enable-libx265 --enable-libxml2 --enable-libxvid --enable-libzmq --enable-libzvbi --enable-omx --enable-openal --enable-opengl --enable-sdl2 --enable-libdc1394 --enable-libdrm --enable-libiec61883 --enable-chromaprint --enable-frei0r --enable-libopencv --enable-libx264 --enable-shared WARNING: library configuration mismatch avcodec configuration: --prefix=/usr --extra-version=0ubuntu0.18.04.1 --toolchain=hardened --libdir=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu --incdir=/usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu --enable-gpl --disable-stripping --enable-avresample --enable-avisynth --enable-gnutls --enable-ladspa --enable-libass --enable-libbluray --enable-libbs2b --enable-libcaca --enable-libcdio --enable-libflite --enable-libfontconfig --enable-libfreetype --enable-libfribidi --enable-libgme --enable-libgsm --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libmysofa --enable-libopenjpeg --enable-libopenmpt --enable-libopus --enable-libpulse --enable-librubberband --enable-librsvg --enable-libshine --enable-libsnappy --enable-libsoxr --enable-libspeex --enable-libssh --enable-libtheora --enable-libtwolame --enable-libvorbis --enable-libvpx --enable-libwavpack --enable-libwebp --enable-libx265 --enable-libxml2 --enable-libxvid --enable-libzmq --enable-libzvbi --enable-omx --enable-openal --enable-opengl --enable-sdl2 --enable-libdc1394 --enable-libdrm --enable-libiec61883 --enable-chromaprint --enable-frei0r --enable-libopencv --enable-libx264 --enable-shared --enable-version3 --disable-doc --disable-programs --enable-libopencore_amrnb --enable-libopencore_amrwb --enable-libtesseract --enable-libvo_amrwbenc libavutil 55. 78.100 / 55. 78.100 libavcodec 57.107.100 / 57.107.100 libavformat57. 83.100 / 57. 83.100 libavdevice57. 10.100 / 57. 10.100 libavfilter 6.107.100 / 6.107.100 libavresample 3. 7. 0 / 3. 7. 0 libswscale 4. 8.100 / 4. 8.100 libswresample 2. 9.100 / 2. 9.100 libpostproc54. 7.100 / 54. 7.100 Input #0, mpegts, from '00012.MTS': Duration: 00:00:19.04, start: 1.033367, bitrate: 22304 kb/s Program 1 Stream #0:0[0x1011]: Video: h264 (High) (HDMV / 0x564D4448), yuv420p(top first), 1920x1080 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 29.97 fps, 59.94 tbr, 90k tbn, 59.94 tbc Stream #0:1[0x1100]: Audio: ac3 (AC-3 / 0x332D4341), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 448 kb/s Stream #0:2[0x1200]: Subtitle: hdmv_pgs_subtitle ([144][0][0][0] / 0x0090), 1920x1080 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: shotwell 0.28.2-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-36.39-generic 4.15.18 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-36-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.4 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Wed Nov 21 18:00:21 2018 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-01-05 (1050 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 14.04.3 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Beta amd64 (20150805) SourcePackage: shotwell UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to bionic on 2018-10-08 (44 days ago) ** Affects: shotwell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1804541 Title: shotwell does not categorize MTS files into events To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1804541/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists
[Bug 1763594] Re: xhci hangs; reset results in NULL pointer dereference
I've been getting similar disconnects on a Dell Latitude 5580 that is connected to a Dell D6000 docking station via USB-C. I'm also using DisplayLink driver version 4.4.24 (https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu) in order to connect to two external displays. With Ubuntu 17.10 I was not seeing any disconnects. [Bug 1586528] Re: Avahi-daemon withdraws address record
I am having the same issue, not in a VM. Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS. eth0 is a wired network controller. I've attached a tar file containing: - relevant syslog messages - output of 'ethtool eht0' - output of 'ethtool -i eth0' - output of 'lspci -vvv' I'm not sure what other information would be relevant but am happy to provide it on request, either when the system is in the problem state or otherwise. I recover the situation by clicking the "Wired connection 1" in the network indicator panel. Clearly there are at least 3 problems here: 1. The network connection is lost 2. There is no reason given for the loss of connection 3. The connection is not automatically recovered ** Attachment added: "Output of various commands" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/avahi/+bug/1586528/+attachment/4855862/+files/command_output.tar -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1586528 Title: Avahi-daemon withdraws address record To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/avahi/+bug/1586528/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1301447] [NEW] evince displays only first page of certain PDFs
Public bug reported: I have recently found that evince 3.6.1 (3.6.1-1ubuntu) will only display the first page of certain PDF files. I can open the files in Adobe Reader XI under Windows 7 Enterprise. In this manner I can confirm that the documents have more than one page. Evince properly handles the majority of PDF documents that I come across. It appears that the files that evince "thinks" have only 1 page are PDF version 1.7 according to file(1). Here is an example. The "Manuals for HP 6125XLG Ethernet Blade Switch" document listing [1] on hp.com lists several PDF files. "HP 6125XLG Blade Switch Installation Guide" [2] opens correctly and evince shows it has 33 pages (which Adobe Reader agrees with). Firefox has saved a temporary copy of it, and file(1) shows: $ file /tmp/Download-2.pdf /tmp/Download-2.pdf: PDF document, version 1.6 The "R2306-HP 6125XLG Blade Switch Command References" document [3] opens in evince, but evince shows that it has only 1 page (see file "evince-onepage.png"). Adobe Reader shows that it has 15 titles of various lengths. The first title, "About the HP 6125XLG Blade Command Refernces" is 8 pages. file(1) for this pdf shows: $ file /tmp/emr_na-c03933238-1-3.pdf /tmp/emr_na-c03933238-1-3.pdf: PDF document, version 1.7 Perhaps it is these "composite" PDF files that evince can't handle. It appeared to be bug #993506. So in addition to the kernel update, I have also updated the nvidia-current and nvidia-settings packages from the ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates PPA. As I am not sure as to the repeatability of this bug, I will need to run this kernel for a couple of weeks to get an idea of how well the suspend/resume works. However, a quick suspend/resume smoke test worked, which is a good sign. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1052239 Title: "general protection fault: [#1] SMP" on resume from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1052239/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 520204] [NEW] No keyboard shortcut actions available for workspaces numbered higher than 12
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center Symptoms I have 14 workspaces. I would like to assign a keyboard shortcut to access all of them. I am able to do so for desktops #1-12 via System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts. In the Keyboard Shortcuts manager, there are predefined actions for switching to workspaces 1-12 ("Switch to workspace 1", "Switch to workspace 2", etc.). However, there are no actions for workspaces numbered higher than 12. If a user configures more than 12 workspaces, the "Keyboard Shortcuts" utility should be dynamically updated to reflect that. A workaround is: 1. Install the "wmctrl" package 2. Open the Keyboard Shortcuts utility via System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts. 3. Click "Add". 4. Name: Switch to workspace 13 Command: wmctrl -s 12 (the desktop numbering is 0-based) 5. Click "Apply". 6. Scroll down to the "Custom Shortcuts" section. 7. Apply a keyboard shortcut to the new action. Steps to reproduce the problem == 1. Right-click on the workspace panel and select "Preferences". 2. Configure more than 12 workspaces. 3. Open the Keyboard Shortcuts utility via System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts. Note that there are no actions for any workspaces numbered greater than 12. [Bug 409539] [NEW] audacity window location not remembered with status icon plugin
Public bug reported: Environment === $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 9.04 Release:9.04 audacity: Installed: 1.3.7-2ubuntu1 Symptoms I use audacity with the "Status Icon 0.5" plugin. This plugin "provides a status icon, placed in the system tray area of the window manager." When I click on the status icon, the audacity window will show or hide itself. When showing, the window reappears in the last position I moved it to before it was hidden. I did an "apt-get update" followed by "apt-get upgrade" this morning. (See dpkg.log for the list of packages that changed). I rebooted the system. Now, when I click the status icon to show the audacity application, the window always appears near the top-left corner of the screen. "xwininfo" shows: Absolute upper-left X: 25 Absolute upper-left Y: 43 Relative upper-left X: 5 Relative upper-left Y: 23 Width: 275 Height: 116 Depth: 24 It doesn't matter if I drag the window to my preferred location and hide it with the status icon; the window reappears in the same upper-left spot each time. I don't think this is a bug with the audacity program. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- audacity window location not remembered with status icon plugin https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/409539 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
