Half my office began printing blue today after an unattended update. [Bug 996770] Re: Lock screen is occasionally solid black except for mouse cursor after resuming from suspend
Perhaps this is not the same issue (?), but issuing the command: gnome-screensaver-command -l occassionally leaves me with a black screen - even after numerous mouse clicks / key presses - and the cursor is not visible. When this happens, I am able to log back in by blindly typing my password and pressing - just as if the "Lock screen" dialog was visible. Unlike the original post, my attempts to switch to a tty (e.g. Ctrl + Alt + F2) result in the same blank screen (i.e. no prompt for login username).. Update: I noticed that even though I had clicked each add-on's "Disable" button and restarted Thunderbird, the Lightning add-on remained active. After again disabling all add-ons and rebooting (when in doubt, reboot), Thunderbird now appears to behave normally. Distro/Version: Ubuntu 9.04 Kernel: 2.6.28-18-generic Thunderbird version: 2.0.0.23 (20090817) Installed Add-Ons: Google Desktop, Lightning, Provider for Google Calendar, TZ Definitions for Mozilla Calendar Whenever I open Thunderbird, several messages in my Inbox render as blank emails - similar in all aspects to Martins K's comments: "Opening a new message results in a blank page. I have minimized the header by default, so after I've clicked the "+" mark and then "-" left to the "Subject: ", the message is drawn correctly." The problem remains whether the preview pane is used - or if the message is opened in a separate window. Choosing to view the message in text/original HTML/simple HTML does not help. However, replying to the message draws the original message correct (as quotes) - as does clicking the "-" / "+" marks next to the "Subject:" (as per Martins' post). Unfortunately, the problem remains even when Thunderbird is restarted.
