[Bug 111507] Re: VPN passwords not saved

2010-05-21 Thread Steve Thomas
This bug seems to have come back with Lucid Lynx. Despite asking for
password saves, it prompts every time for user and group passwords.

NM 0.8 / Ububtu 10, Dell XPS 1330.

[Bug 206673] Re: vpnc disconnects after a few seconds

2009-12-02 Thread Steve Thomas
I still have this problem in 9.10. Running vpnc version 0.5.3, from the
command line. And I have DPD idle set to 0 in the default.config.

I've also dumped nm and use Wicd. Didn't make any difference.

I'm not entirely sure if it's a time-out/disconnection problem, or just
incredibly slow. Seems v. slow right from the start -- e.g. 30 seconds
to login prompt on the remote host.

I can't find the log file -- where is it? (Not in /var/log/)

This is a nightmare for me, because I work from home a lot -- and right
now I'm having to use Vista. Please help!!

[Bug 457912] [NEW] Firefox Page Setup has no Margin/Headers tab

2009-10-22 Thread Steve Thomas
Public bug reported:

When I select Page Setup from the file menu, I get only a simple dialog
that lets me select printer and page orientation. There's no tab
allowing me to change margins or header/footer.

Was expecting a dialog like the one in Thunderbird.

Using FF 3.0.14 on Jaunty.

2008-12-01 Thread Steve Thomas
Can now confirm that this is still a problem in Intrepid - I upgraded,
and it's still borked.

In fact, the situation is worse now, because I can no longer get Brasero
to write to a blank DVD either! SO I currently have no way to back up.

[Bug 304274] [NEW] Brasero does not allow adding of hidden files (8.10)

2008-12-01 Thread Steve Thomas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

Opening Brasero to create a new data DVD for backup, I can select and
add visible folders and files to the project, but there seems to be no
way to show and add hidden files. [Specifically, I want to backup
.mozilla-thunderbird/]

Also, selecting Search files using keyword leaves all the options
grayed out, so I can't use this either.

I'm using a Dell XPS M1330, and this worked OK in Hardy (8.04).

[Bug 304278] [NEW] Brasero borks if directories nested 6 (8.10)

2008-12-01 Thread Steve Thomas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

Trying to burn a data dvd, after I click Burn and insert a blank DVD,
Brasero produces an error. The session log is attached, but the key line
seems to be :

BraseroGrowisofs stderr: genisoimage: Directories too deep for
'/home/steve/.mozilla/firefox/h0q6xx5w.default/extensions/[EMAIL
PROTECTED]/platform/OS2/chrome'
(7) max is 6.

Some class of compatibility with standards? There should be an option to
override this, since I only want a backup dvd compatible with Ubuntu.

2008-11-16 Thread Steve Thomas
This may be bogus, because I may have misunderstood what the issues are
here -- I came looking for an answer for my XPS M1330, where the
multimedia volume controls stopped working.

Anyway, I checked the Sound Preferences and changed Default Mixer Tracks
driver from HDA to Playback: ALSA PCM - and now they work!

I'm on Intrepid BTW.

[Bug 238130] [NEW] CD/DVD Creator fails torecognise blank DVD (8.04)

2008-06-07 Thread Steve Thomas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus-cd-burner

I was able to burn to DVD last week, but not today. Running 8.04 on a
Dell M1330.

There was a kernel update this week, and various gnome updates, which
may be significant.

Symptom is: I open CD/DVD Creator from Places menu; add the folders I
want to copy. Click on Write DVD. The program then asks repeatedly for a
blank DVD+R disk, even though one is already in the drive. If I start by
inserting a blank DVD, same thing. It doesn't seem to recognise the
blank as a blank. (Also fails on DVD-R disk.)

I tried using Brasero instead, and that worked fine, so I think this
must be a nautilus error.
