[Bug 1242092] Re: xsane hangs up while scanning for devices
I tried this solution of adding these two files but it made no difference on my system. The xsane app still hangs after displaying the "scanning for devices" popup and the process still hangs at "open("/dev/parport0", O_RDONLY|O_NOCTTY) = 8 ioctl(8, PPGETMODES, 0x7fff5f6441dc" This is on an Ubuntu 14.04 system and with a HP Scanjet G3110 which did used to work just fine on this same system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1242092 Title: xsane hangs up while scanning for devices To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xsane/+bug/1242092/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1245666] Re: Pidgin is creating zombies
I am running ubuntu 14.04 and pidgin 2.10.11 and I currently have 1539 zombie processes from pidgin after an uptime of 72 days. I am also experiencing pidgin dropping out of my Sipe connection quite frequently and then having to press the reconnect button many times to be able to rejoin my conversations. Is there actually any solution to this? I see lots of people reporting the same problem but I do not see any actual solutions posted or even any replies from pidgin package maintianers indicating any interest in solving this problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1245666 Title: Pidgin is creating zombies To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pidgin/+bug/1245666/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 305516] [NEW] livecd missing Intel Gig-E network driver
Public bug reported: I downloaded Ubuntu 8.04.1 live cd and tried to boot my IBM Thinkpad T42 laptop. This laptop (and many other thinkpad laptops) has an Intel 82540EP Gig-E wired network chip. The 8.04.1 livecd failed to load a network driver for the chip. I also have a live cd from ubuntu 7.10 and that release does successfully load a network driver on this same laptop. This chip is identified as the following from a lspci listing: 02:01.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82540EP Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Mobile) (rev 03) I tried manually doing a modprobe of the igb and e1000e-ich9m drivers that were present on the 8.04.1 cd under /lib/modules/2.6.24-21-eeepc/ubuntu/ but neither of those seems to have worked for the 82540EP chip in this Thinkpad T42 laptop. When I boot the same laptop with the live cd from 7.10 the driver that gets loaded and seems to work for this chip is e1000. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - livecd missing network Intel Gig-E driver + livecd missing Intel Gig-E network driver -- livecd missing Intel Gig-E network driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/305516 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
