[Bug 361783] [NEW] Brasero Freezes with Normalize plugin enabled

2009-04-15 Thread Stormdragon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brasero

When I tried to burn an audio cd with Brasero, it just sat at the
burning screen. The progress bar didn't move, it stayed at 0%. Just to
make sure I left it for 3 hours and when I came back it still hadn't
done anything. I went to the Edit menu and under plugins I disabled the
Normalize plugin. When I tried to burn the disk again, it immediately
started working. The cd finished burning in less then 5 minutes.

[Bug 242441] Re: Orca and Flash Freeze Whole Computer

2008-07-06 Thread Stormdragon
I found a work around. If you don't actually need the flash content, you can
install the Web Visum plugin. It can be found at:
http://www.webvisum.com/
Once the plugin is installed, it will have a menu under the tool menu in
Firefox. In one of the sub menus are the options hide flash content and
disable page background sound. I checked both of these and my computer hasn't
frozen on flash pages any more.

[Bug 208189] Re: Orca lose speech with hardyheron beta release

2008-06-23 Thread Stormdragon
I think I have found another way to reproduce this bug. Open a file or
webpage with a lot of text/links. Use the arrow keys to move quickly up
and down through the file or webpage. It seems to close Orca almost
every time I do this. If you still have speech after moving rapidly
through a file, start moving by letter and word, there's a 90 percent
chance the bug will happen then. Pressing alt-f2 and typing orca
followed by enter brings it back. I am not sure if it is actually
closing Orca or just losing speech though.

[Bug 242545] [NEW] Computer freezes after leaving a page with flash content when using Orca with Gnash

2008-06-23 Thread Stormdragon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-orca

When on a webpage with flash content the page works correctly. When attempting
to load a second page, (clicking on a link), it says "loading please wait", and
the computer freezes. The only way to get everything back that I have found is
ctrl-alt-backspace. This bug works on any page with audio/video flash content.
I have found a work around. As soon as the link is clicked press Orca key-q
to exit Orca. This must be done as soon as you press enter on a link or the
computer will freeze. After you press the Orca key-Q which will exit Orca, it
is then possible to press alt-f2 and type orca folowed by enter to get Orca
back. If done correctly, everything works as expected.
Using Ubuntu Hardy with Gnash from the repositories.

[Bug 229184] Re: speech-dispatcher fails to open in Hardy

2008-05-12 Thread Stormdragon
I tried starting speech-dispatcher with the commands:
speech-dispatcher -d
and also:
speech-dispatcher -s
The first starts it as a daemon the second starts it as a single application.
Both of the commands gave the following error:
can't create pid file in /var/run/speech-dispatcher/speech-dispatcher.pid
wrong permissions?

[Bug 214370] Re: Logout/Shutdown Sound Not Working In Hardy beta

2008-05-11 Thread Stormdragon
I have the same problem. Using 2 computers, one a Gateway laptop, the
other a Compaq c500 laptop. Had 8.04 on a Compaq desktop with same
problem. The strange thing is, it worked in the last Alpha release but
not the beta or final release.

[Bug 229184] [NEW] speech-dispatcher fails to open in Hardy

2008-05-11 Thread Stormdragon
Public bug reported:

After downloading speech-dispatcher and python-speechd, when using spd-say, I
get the error:
client: speech-dispatcher failed to open: connection refused
speech-dispatcher also does not show up in Orca speech system combo box.
I have tried this on 2 laptops, one a Compaq c500, the other a Gateway, I can't
remember the model for the Gateway.

[Bug 208189] Re: Orca lose speech with hardyheron beta release

2008-04-26 Thread Stormdragon
I have experienced this bug too. It's still here in the final release of
Hardy. It's impossible to reproduce with any reliability because it is
so random. It just happened as I was writing this message. For me, it
mostly happens with Firefox and Evolution. It can, however, occur in any
application at any time.
