Yes it did relate to the scanning application, which was downloaded from
software centre.
I am not familiar with the bug reporting process, but thought if I reported
to someone, the problem may be fixed sooner...

Bug description:
Binary package hint: software-center
Using Latest release of Ubuntu - and have updated yesterday.
Using AcquireImages for first time.
Had set scanning resolution too high. Was taking too long to scan.
Tried to stop scanning process (60% complete). Program froze at this point,
although the scanner had been reset by program. Could not use program. Could
not close.
Will go back to using XSane. Quicker. More Stable. More scanning options.
