[Bug 1434830] Re: Clicking on Files bookmark doesn't open the requested folder but gives error message

2019-02-09 Thread Svilen Stefanov
I've encountered the same problem as described above on Ubuntu 18.04.
In my case, the dual-boot is Ubuntu and Windows 10 and 2 NTFS partitions for
Windows. Ubuntu is also installed in a different partition (as above).

The steps to reproduce and the workaround are exactly the same and the issue is
systematic.
Attached, you will find the error message that I am getting when trying to
access the bookmarked path to one of the NTFS partitions.

[Bug 771788] Re: nVidia driver activated and apparently being used but reported as not being used by jockey-gtk

Confirmed GT 520. But reboot after deactivating and activating the
driver again, and although it reports the same thing, it appears to be
using the proprietary driver. So far so good, hope this thing lasts.

I can confirm this with my GT 520 card, but when I deactivate the
driver, reboot, activate again, and reboot again, everything seems to
work fine again, even though Additional Drivers reports that driver is
activated but currently not in use. Hopefully this will last.

[Bug 702649] Re: Cannot upgrade to ubuntu natty

2011-01-14 Thread Svilen V
Oh, I just read your comment. I actually reinstalled Ubuntu 10.04,
upgraded to 10.10, reset ubuntu with the rm -rf command I listed above,
and retried the upgrade, but this time it actually worked. I think I may
have figured out the reason why Ubuntu could not calculate the changes.
I had added the xorg-edgers, and X-update PPA I found under Ubuntu
Tweak, and updated Xorg files and ATI Drivers. So now I'm on my way to
becoming an Ubuntu 11.04 alpha tester. I think that otherwise
downgrading the Xorg and ATI drivers would fix the problem.

[Bug 702649] Re: Cannot upgrade to ubuntu natty

2011-01-13 Thread Svilen V
Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
Can not mark 'ubuntu-desktop' for upgrade

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug against the
'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/
in the bug report.

That is the full error I was shown. I tried to reset some files with rm
-rf like .gnome, .gnome2, .gconf, .gconfd, .metacity, .config, .cache,
and .local but still nothing :(

Affirmative, this problem with gliiper has persisted for me for years

The problem is the bug is inconsistent: crashes occur in approx 25% of

(as secind instance) to the panel and it will work without rebooting

[Bug 51363] Re: VMWare networking extremely slow

2006-06-29 Thread Svilen Vassilev
Well, I've been using VMware on Dapper recently with kernel-
image-2.6.15-25-686 and I haven't experienced any networking problems or
ethernet speed issues. Probably the 686 architecture isn't affected?
