 Bug description:
 Hi,

Honeycomb tablets such as Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Motorola Xoom use
MTP and you can see files in Windows. But under Ubuntu while you can
see folders you can't see files inside folders. Also if you add any
files to the folder or create a new folder once it is accessed by the
Tablet, you can't see it under Ubuntu. With the arrival of HoneyComb,
Ubuntu must offer support so that there is yet another reason to use
 Ubuntu.

2011-07-17 Thread Swapnil Bhartiya
@Bilal, @paulocic. I filed that bug there as well. We have two tablets
Samsung Galaxy 10. I am working on a detailed review for Muktware.com.
And this is a issue which will stop me recommending Ubuntu/Linux for
potential tablet buyers. I have no option as Ubuntu is the only distro
that I use. So, I need this problem to be fixed as soon as possible.

Just curious about Launchpad system. Which bug should be marked
duplicate: the one which was filed first or which was filed later? How
can this bug be duplicate of bug #803163. Instead bug #803163 should
have been marked duplicated of this bug. It doesn't matter much as log
as it gets fixed, but I do want to understand how Launchpad works.

2011-07-08 Thread Swapnil Bhartiya
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 803163 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803163

Thanks for your explanation. So, there is no point in users first
checking if the bug has already being filed and duplicate it wasting the
time of others who already filed it or discussed it. Its not about any
guidelines, but just preference? Can't the title be edited and made
appropriate? Because this behaviour will discourage users to file bugs
or discuss them, just to find that it has been marked 'duplicate' of a
newly filed bug rendering useless all the discussion that happened on
the report. It will also start a trend of filing bugs without checking
if its already filed.

[Bug 783506] Re: Sound Preference Misbehaves

2011-05-20 Thread Swapnil Bhartiya
Hi,

I have observed that the problem crops up when we also install Kubuntu
Desktop on Ubuntu. It seems the sound packages conflict.

[Bug 765767] Re: Global Menu Can't Handle Multiple Apps

2011-04-26 Thread Swapnil Bhartiya
The problem recurs. One needs to click on the non-responding app in the
launcher and then only global menu sees it. It is a bit annoying but
doesn't happen every now and then. Also, during Skype if sharing screen,
you can't control the screen. If my friend is sharing his screen with me
I can't minimize or move his screen. Every other window gets under the
shared screen.

[Bug 515219] Re: Ubuntu Install crash , cant dual boot my laptop :(

2010-02-01 Thread Swapnil
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 258603 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/258603

I happen to get a solution to this :
1) During installation when it asks for option at the user creation screen
instead of going with the default option of
required user id and password for login I selected option automatic login
 and the installation worked .

To check if this was just a fluke, i ran the installtion couple of times
on the same machine and came to the conclusion when ever i went with the
default logon option i.e required user id and password for login i
ended up with the above error ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in
configure_user() and whenever i selected the automatic login option
it went through , I am not a guru but this is what I tried to understand
from the syslog file .This is my dummy way of getting this resolved as
of now.

I would appreciate any help if some one explain me any downside of this
option or the actual reason of the error i faced .
