[Bug 489413] Re: Please remove rapache from Lucid
Beside you not having spoke with the right person, please remove it. Rapache worked fine until Ubuntu 8.10, then some library changes made it not work anymore. Since I had no time and chance to hack on the trunk and given the fact that, notwithstanding the fact an easy known workaround[1] was there, motus nor anyone else took the time to patch the Ubuntu package, removing it once for all seems the right choice. If ever (not for the next months) the development will resume, I'll make sure to fork the current trunk and change name to the project. Just to make sure people get to talk with the right ones. [Bug 308370] [NEW] Rythmbox freezes very often with Accessibility support enabled when using multimedia keys
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I am on a relatively clean Intrepid installation (installed from scratch 1 month ago). I am using a Dell desktop computer, with a multimedia keyboard. Rhythmbox freezes very often when, while its windows has focus, I use my keyboard's sound volume wheel. Usually, many other GTK applications I've open freeze as well. I use a Qt editor and it seems unaffected. Firefox also freezes less often than other apps. This only happens with accessibility enabled. How to reproduce: - enable accessibility, logout and login. - start rhythmbox (optionally start some other gtk app) - bring rhythmbox windows on focus - turn your volume wheel one way or another for 1-2 secs. (note: crashes very often just adjusting the volume slightly, overloading is just a way to reproduce the bug) Expect behaviour: - sound volume change immediately without affecting other apps What happens: - Rhythmbox freezes. - 1 or 2 other apps you have open freeze. What to do when that happens: - wait. After a minute or two, your computer will eventually catchup Output on console: - None To be honest, I am not sure if it's only rhythmbox fault. I generally feel gnome much less stable with accessibility turned on. ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Rythmbox freezes very often with Accessibility support enabled when using multimedia keys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/308370 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 269656] Re: AN IRRELEVANT LICENSE IS PRESENTED TO YOU FREE-OF-CHARGE ON STARTUP
Leaving aside how much does this sucks.. couldn't we just hack the start page for the first time ? Sometime when you install a firefox extension, after rebooting the browser you're shown a tab with the extension instructions. So the flow could be like this: - joe open the browser - the start page contains a nicely formatted-no-all-caps eula. - joe goes on gmail/digg/whatever, then closes the browser. - joe opens the browser again - the start page he sees is the default ubuntu one. I believe this could be less intrusive. Sucks anyway, but maybe some artwork could render the eula more pleasant. -- AN IRRELEVANT LICENSE IS PRESENTED TO YOU FREE-OF-CHARGE ON STARTUP https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269656 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 269656] Re: AN IRRELEVANT LICENSE IS PRESENTED TO YOU FREE-OF-CHARGE ON STARTUP
As Sebastian Bengtsson, putting the eula in the first page would be nice. Would be even nicer (but thats depends on Mozilla lawyers, and I don't think it will be feasible) creating a page like the creative commons one: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Such page would link or (better) embedd the full eula in a textarea. Since i don't think it will be feasible (but maybe worth a try ?) i'd go with the Ubuntu Web Browser idea. -- AN IRRELEVANT LICENSE IS PRESENTED TO YOU FREE-OF-CHARGE ON STARTUP https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269656 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 244486] Re: Vertical line across gPHPEdit canvas
Could be the suggested line wrap width. Usually beetwen 60-80 characters from the beginning of the line. Developers use that to know when they should wrap the code to a new line in order to keep their code readable and adherent to the code formatting convention they choose. Try to check if there's something about that in the preferences. You could be able to disable it or modify the place where it appears. Also increasing/decreasing the font size used by the editor should influence that line position. If you can reproduce this kind of behaviour I'd suggest marking this bug as invalid -- Vertical line across gPHPEdit canvas https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/244486 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 229069] [NEW] Creating a launcher shuold give an option to perform cd before executing
Public bug reported: When you create a launcher it would be handy to have a checkbox to change the current dir to the directory containing the executable. This would help novices and give some relief to the support channels (I spent a fair amount of time helping people to create .sh files to cd /home/user/myprogram; ./program). The target is little programs that come in tarballs like Phun or TeeWorlds, where you have to change to the application dir before launching them. My quick and dirty solution for that was creating a script in /usr/local/bin (es: cwdlauncher) containing: #!/bin/bash cd `dirname $1` ./`basename $1 $2 $3 $4` and writing cwdlaunch /home/user/phun/phun in the command field of the launcher creation wizard. An integrated solution would be handy, and wouldn't require no more than an additional checkbox on the launcher wizard. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Creating a launcher shuold give an option to perform cd before executing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229069 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
