[Bug 1055952] Re: Direct data leaking to Amazon

2012-12-11 Thread TToft
Every IT site in the world: "Ubuntu with Spyware?"

Please release a fix. The Ubuntu brand is getting tarnished. No matter
if it is indeed a security problem or not - that can be discussed if
needed- but this *will* stick to Ubuntu forever if it isn't fixed
quickly. Opt-in is the Linux way.

[Bug 664107] Re: Launchpad trademark

2010-10-23 Thread TToft
Much can be said about this topic but it is just as much a bug as bug
#1. Had it been the other way around Apple would sue Canonical all the
way to hell (I've heard they actually run OSX down there as part of
their punishment).

But Canonical is NOT apple ($$$) so nothing is going to happen.
Relax.

[Bug 463016] [NEW] Network-manager doesn't always close dialog after authorizing changes.

2009-10-28 Thread TToft
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

Problem:
Sometimes when trying to authorize changes made in network-manager by pressing
the Accept button after inputing password in the pop-up dialog network-manager
does not close the password dialog. Repeat clicks on Accept or Reject (?
"Annuller" in danish) does nothing.

What I expected:
Network-manager should authorize the changes and close the dialog after
pressing Accept.

Temporary solution:
Clicking the X closes the dialog and network-manager and changes are applied.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Network-manager
2. Make some changes to interfaces
3. Press Apply
4. Fill in password and press Accept*

* - Attached screen shot shows the pop-up dialog after the password has been
entered and Accept has been clicked.

[Bug 463005] [NEW] "About Ubuntu" (Yelp) freezes the machine

2009-10-28 Thread TToft
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

Trying to view System > About Ubuntu or System > Help and Support causes
the machine to freeze for some minutes then reporting an error (see
attached screen shot).

Changing to a console works but killing yelp causes X to die. Changing
back to the desktop only shows a few centimeters of the lower right
desktop corner and then nothing happens.

While the machine is "frozen" the mouse still works. Clicking anything
doesn't do anything until the machine wakes up again. Pointing at the
yelp window causes the mouse cursor to flicker like some kind of graphic
corruption.

Attached screen shot shows the error reported after the machine responds
again.

[Bug 420933] Re: Current grub-pc takes several minutes to show menu

My guess is that a lot of Ubuntu users will run screaming away if this

importance? Since I'm just testing the RC I'll survive but for every day
use this is more or less a show stopper. I hope GRUB-legacy is used in
Karmic final if this isn't fixed so it wont hold users back from
