[Bug 1010045] Re: 12.04 hangs on shutdown deconfiguring network interfaces
@stgraber That's oversimplifying things a bit. :) As the OP, our servers have several interfaces which gives a server access to various subnets. One of these holds the ldap auth servers. If this interface is downed first, resolvconf will hang for ldap.conf TIMEOUT time for every other interface downed. When they're all down (or any default or matching subnet routes), resolvconf/getent passwd returns immediately. So... In my case, reducing the /etc/ldap.conf /etc/ldap/ldap.conf timeouts or adding a blackhole route with a high metric value matching the ldap subnets would work around this. As such it can't be categorized as a bug. When I initially chimed in, the problem was masking the infamous scsi kernel softlockup bug. I'm still puzzled over the nss query resolvconf is triggering. I cannot reproduce it with getent password or similar lookups. For whatever reason resolvconf triggers a query looking for a posixaccount with uid=\2a (uid="*"), which returns 0 results. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1010045 Title: 12.04 hangs on shutdown deconfiguring network interfaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ifupdown/+bug/1010045/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1010045] Re: 12.04 hangs on shutdown deconfiguring network interfaces

Re: [Bug 833368] Re: clustered lvm commands fail with "activation/monitoring=0 is incompatible with clustered Volume Group" error
@robert That doesn't sound like the same issue. Either no lvs would show or all of them. The actual error messages you're seeing if any could be helpful. The output of pvs -vv, vgs -vv and lvs -vv would be helpful as well. [Bug 1075950] Re: Starting clustered lvm vg pool fails with status 5
The vg was created as a normal vg. Ie. vgcreate vg2 /dev/disk/by-id/dm-uuid-mpath-. Then I installed and configured clustering (cman, clvm, fence-agents) and once cman was running I ran lvmconf --enable-cluster, vgchange -cy vg2 and finally service clvm start. At this point /etc/init.d/clvm complains with pretty much the same error as here - I modified the script and added --monitor y to the vgchange entries and clvm does what it should. Changes were suggested in bug 833368. I didn't find a way to modify libvirt with the same change. Also, I've just noticed libvirt should probably use -aly for clustered volumes and not -ay as it is now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075950 Title: Starting clustered lvm vg pool fails with status 5 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1075950/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Resolvconf seems to be causing the "hang" in at least one of my testcases. It seems to be attempting to speak with our ldap authentication servers. [Bug 633392] Re: Bridged Guests losing network connectivity
I can now reproduce the behavior on demand. I'll try to explain my setup: A: Router. B: KVM guest on a Maverick Host. C: Other Host. A, B and C are all in the same subnet. I boot B and ssh from outside to B. While in B I ping C. C initially doesn't respond and the arp cache shows C as failed. After a while C suddenly starts responding and the arp cache reflects C as reachable. Deleting the entry from the arp cache and it starts over with the random delay before responding. Now, dumping arp traffic on the host bridge and on the vnet0 if also on the host side while running the scenario above shows who-has requests coming through nicely. But the is-at replies for C only appears on the host bridge for some time. It doesn't make it to vnet0. After anything from 10 to 60 seconds a couple of the is-at replies makes it through and the pings start getting sent and replied. Here's the odd part. IF there's no other traffic from B (ie. ssh output) while B is sending who-has requests for C, the ssh connection severely lags. Getting a CTRL-C through takes quite some time. Usually the lag lasts until B finally gets the is-at reply or gives up trying. But if there's a lot of output from pings and a top running in another connection, the lag is nearly unnoticable. -- Bridged Guests losing network connectivity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/633392 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 584048] Re: kvm images losing connectivity w/bridged network
I have not had the opportunity to test multiple guests on the Maverick host since I've had quite a few problems with it. Right now it seems like the problem I'm seeing is related to a vlan bug very similar to the one reported in bug #658460. The outages appear random but it looks like it occurs when there haven't been any traffic for a while and the guests mac is cleared from arp tables in the network. It may not be kvm related at all although I've only observed the outage in a kvm guest so far. -- kvm images losing connectivity w/bridged network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584048 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 259540] Re: Wubi - "No root file system is defined" error
I just got the same message after installing Kubuntu 10.04 using WUBI on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. -- Wubi - "No root file system is defined" error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259540 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 637974] [NEW] git-svn ignores subversion password-stores, overwriting auth-creds
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: git-svn I have password-stores = kwallet in .subversion/config and store- plaintext-passwords = no in .subversion/servers. When using subversion directly (ie. svn list http://some.svn.server) passwords are stored in and pulled from kwallet. Auth credential file in .subversion/auth/xxx contains passtype kwallet. If I then access the same svn repository through git svn clone, I'm asked for the password again and the passtype is erased from the .subversion/auth/svn.simple/xxx file.
