[Bug 978807] Re: 'Cypress Trackpad' incorrectly detected as 'ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse' in 'Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook''

2012-07-25 Thread Tartopom3
Hi,

Today, I flashed my BIOS to A06 version...on my Dells-XPS-13Z (L321X)..
Still the same issue, after 1 second, the driver is unloading, due to a
"Read error"... :o/ (this trackpad on this laptop works seamlessly along
with Win7 OS, but this OS is not my cup of tea ..;o))

[Bug 978807] Re: 'Cypress Trackpad' incorrectly detected as 'ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse' in 'Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook''

2012-07-22 Thread Tartopom3
Hi Kamal,

Accordingly to our mail exchanges, here is the issue (bug?) i noticed
with my XPS13z. It correctly detects my Cypress trackpad, adding correct
input device, but 2" later, it fails...

$ uname -a
Linux dsi-13 3.2.0-26-generic #41+kamal4~DellXPS-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 26 19:18:20
UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[ 4.560] (II) UnloadModule: "synaptics"

have anyone noticed such problem?

Thank you again so much Kamal, for this huge work!
Best regards
P

Kamal, First of all, i would like to thank you so much to have done such a
great job for our community.

My Cypress Trakpad on my XPS13Z doesn't work at all under X...due to a
lack of driver loaded...(it seems to).

I cleaned my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d, and keep only original thing in
/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d
I'm sure i have missed something trivial...but...don't know exactly what.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

[Bug 200113] Re: No tty on hardy

2008-03-26 Thread Tartopom3
Same problem for mewith gutsy, and the same with Hardy Beta. getty
processes are here...but when i switch with Ctrl-Alt-F1..F6 -> blinking cursor
on a black window.
# ps ax | fgrep getty
 5007 tty4 Ss+0:00 /sbin/getty 38400 tty4
 5008 tty5 Ss+0:00 /sbin/getty 38400 tty5
 5011 tty2 Ss+0:00 /sbin/getty 38400 tty2
 5015 tty3 Ss+0:00 /sbin/getty 38400 tty3
 5017 tty1 Ss+0:00 /sbin/getty 38400 tty1
 5018 tty6 Ss+0:00 /sbin/getty 38400 tty6

During boot process, when i switch with Ctrl-Alt-F1, i can see a
blinking cursor on the very last right corner, moving down line by line
fastly (but staying on the right part of the screen, then i can see
bootlog messages at the nearly end of boot process (start daemons logs
with the console font "lat0-sun16"), and then gdm starts.

When i boot with recovery mode, i can obtain a text tty prompt.
