[Bug 364091] Re: xrandr error with delmode
I'm also experiencing this bug. OS: Linux Mint 21.3 Xfce. I have an external monitor whose native resolution is 5120×1440 px. I earlier used it in a reduced resolution of 3840×1080 px, before figuring out how to get the native resolution. The command xrandr still lists the 3840×1080 mode I added earlier. I'd like to get rid of it, because (1) I don't need it anymore, and (2) for some reason, when I start up my computer, the external monitor's resolution defaults to it, and I'm thinking getting rid of the resolution might resolve the problem. [Bug 798414] Re: update-initramfs should produce a more helpful error when there isn't enough free space
I was again purging old kernels via the Synaptic package manager manually when I ran into this bug. As others have remarked above, the root cause of having to purge kernels manually when /boot runs out of space is pretty bad; an operating system that purports to be, and mostly is, easy-to-use, should be able to handle that situation far better, by purging old kernels automatically, or at most after one confirmation dialog. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798414 Title: update-initramfs should produce a more helpful error when there isn't enough free space To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/initramfs-tools/+bug/798414/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1183692] Re: Not enough disk space for kernel security update on /boot
Yep, it affects me too, at least a couple of times a year. I'm using home folder encryption only, not full disk encryption. When installing Xubuntu, home-folder encryption is given as an option, so this bug will affect those ordinary users who chose that option, not just us nerds. So, I also think that when the insufficient space on /boot dialog is shown, there should be an option for the user to have old kernel versions removed automatically, because it's too difficult for the ordinary user to remove them using via the command line. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1183692 Title: Not enough disk space for kernel security update on /boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1183692/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have also occasionally gotten accounts-daemon-related crashes right after login, for several months now, on two machines that both run Xubuntu 12.04, and which I've kept up-to-date by always upgrading packages when prompted by the system.
