[Bug 1238194] Re: keyboard doesn't work to enter password with encrypted partitions ubuntu 13.10 saucy
I encountered this issue while using a "Lenovo ThinkPad Compact USB" keyboard with 3.19.0-33-generic. For this keyboard and most likely many recent Lenovo Thinkpads the correct module that needs to be added to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules is "hid-lenovo". Executing "update- initramfs -u -k all" after the addition will update the initramfs of all installed kernels, not only the currently used one. Some older kernels (at least 3.13.0-nn-generic) may require "hid-lenovo-tpkbd" instead as the module appear to have been renamed at some point. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1238194 Title: keyboard doesn't work to enter password with encrypted partitions ubuntu 13.10 saucy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/initramfs-tools/+bug/1238194/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1033698] [NEW] 0010-set-language.patch forces UTF-8 into use in ~/.pam_environment
Public bug reported: The modification done by 0010-set-language.patch (see LP: #866062) cause UTF-8 to be forced in ~/.pam_environment even if something else has been defined in /etc/default/locale. Example: /etc/default/locale contains: LANG=en_US After login from lightdm ~/.pam_environment contains: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 and that result in UTF-8 being forced to use for example in terminals. This problem can be traced to 0010-set-language.patch that introduces the function user_locale_utf8_fix that for some reason gets called every time variables are handled. As a result, it's not possible to have UTF-8 disabled. As a very crude hack, I've modified the /usr/share/language-tools/save- to-pam-env script to call sed and remove any UTF-8 string before the exit line. [Bug 251164] Re: boot impossible due to missing initramfs failure hook / event driven initramfs
Commenting here since bug #324997 has been marked as duplicate and the behaviour appears to have changed since the original report. With Ubuntu 12.04, booting with a degraded raid (due to missing disk) causes the boot process to stop at Begin: Waiting for encrypted source device... There's a timeout of around 180 seconds after which a busybox prompt becomes available. It's possible to continue from that prompt by commanding mdadm --run /dev/mdX followed with ctrl-d. That causes cryptsetup to find the device, prompt for a passphrase and continue the boot procedure. I noticed that this problem occurs only when a disk is missing from the raid. Setting one disk as failed and then booting with all disks but still in degraded state will result in some warnings during the boot process but there will be no waiting for timeouts or busybox prompts. Another suggestion I found in several places and ended up testing was to replace the UUID in /etc/crypttab with the device itself (/dev/mdX). That results in no timeout and cryptsetup asking for the passphrase but it will not accept the correct passphrase as long as any disk from the raid is missing. There's no busybox prompt available either resulting in a system that can't boot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251164 Title: boot impossible due to missing initramfs failure hook / event driven initramfs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cryptsetup/+bug/251164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 410968] Re: vnstat does not list other interfaces if eth0 is never used
You can change the default interface that gets used when parameter -i isn't present from the configuration file /etc/vnstat.conf by changing the Interface setting. However, it seems that 1.6-1 doesn't install any configuration file although such existed in the original upstream install script.
