[Bug 896916] Re: /dev/.initramfs triggers warnings in rkhunter

2011-11-28 Thread Thabo Ntitsane
If one sets in /etc/rkhuhnter.conf
ALLOWHIDDENDIR="/dev/.initramfs"
it still generates a warning, as it is a file (well, symlink) not a directory.

If one sets
ALLOWHIDDENFILE="/dev/.initramfs"
rkhunter refuses to run, because it should be a directory.

It would be great to see an update of rkhunter in oneiric server to
solve this.

[Bug 879447] [NEW] unity launcher does not retain custom application when dragging

2011-10-21 Thread Thabo Ntitsane
Public bug reported:

We've created a custom ~/.local/share/applications/app-lication.desktop.
(yes, the filename has a hyphen in it).

It shows in the dash, but does not get retained by the launcher when
dragging it from the dash. To retain it, one has to launch it from the dash,
then right click on it in the launcher and choose "Keep In Launcher".
This works.

The desktop file looks like this:

0 user@somalia:~$ cat .local/share/applications/su-application.desktop
#!/usr/bin/env xdg-open

[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Type=Application
Terminal=false
Exec=xterm -title 'Uni Application' -bg black -fg white -fn 10x20 -g
80x25+100+100 -name QVTerm -e 'ssh -X usern...@hostname.domain.com'
Name=Uni Application
Comment=University Application
Icon=gnome-terminal
0 user@somalia:~$

[Bug 879344] [NEW] Kile can't be dragged from Unity Dash onto Launcher

2011-10-21 Thread Thabo Ntitsane
Public bug reported:

Kile is installed as one of the applications ubuntu 11.04 desktop.
Other applications (e.g. firefox) allow one to drag the application from
Dash onto the Launcher bar whereas Kile does not. If one drags Kile
from the Dash onto the Laucher bar it just disappears. The application
(i.e. Kile) only stays onto the Launcher bar when one opens it and while
it is still open then look for it on the Launcher bar and then click
"Keep In Launcher". When one looks for the "kile.desktop" file it is
located in "/usr/share/applications/kde4/" directory while most of the
other desktop files are in "/usr/share/applications/" directory.
