[Bug 885085]

2016-03-15 Thread TheReaperD
This becomes more of an issue the longer your formulas are. With some
of the formulas I am using, it can consume a large portion of the page,
hiding many cells I would like to be able to click on to add to the
formula. This forces me to save the formula incomplete, lookup the cell
addresses that I need to add and re-edit the formula. Since some of
them requires 10 cells or more, this is a major pain.

[Bug 315710] Re: Linux needs exFAT support

2009-02-22 Thread TheReaperD
This is going to be an increasingly important issue as there is exFAT
support with Windows Vista SP1 and the future Windows 7 (with ability to
backport it to Windows 2000 and XP). With SD cards and other media
starting to support this format, we're going to see a lot more of exFAT
for better or for worse. It would also be nice to have a bug free way
to have a common partition between Windows and Linux. exFAT should, in
theory, be a lot easier to add support for then NTFS.

[Bug 210303] Re: [hardy] kaffeine loops on Codec package is already installed

2008-08-01 Thread TheReaperD
For the DVD playback issue (getting the error even after libdvdcss2 is
installed), oddly enough, installing libxine1-ffmpeg from Adept did
resolve the issue. So, if you're having the error, give it a try.

[Bug 241475] Re: Hardy kernel upgrade to 2.6.24-19-generic breaks Parallels

2008-07-18 Thread TheReaperD
I'm having the same issue. I'm running a clean install of Hardy
(Kubuntu 8.04) so, my system jumped the 2.6.24-18 kernel update. I'd
rather not backdate it as kernel modifications are a little out of my
comfort zone at the moment.

If you need someone for testing, I would be willing to help out. I'm
not used to compiling things but, if I get a DEB package, I can take it
from there.

Thank you.

Craptacular. Thank you, that did resolve the issue. Sorry for the
bandwidth. I read every forum post and FAQ I could find in Google and
didn't run across that piece of information. I posted the solution in
the forum that I have a login to so the other people interesting will
have this information. For anyone needed this information, the URL for

Using full feature print driver downloaded from http://hp.com

KDE Printer Settings:
OfficeJet_Print
Type: Local printer
State: Idle (accepting jobs)
Location:
Description: HP OfficeJet 5500
URI: ipp://localhost:631/printer/OfficeJet_Print
Device: smb://192.168.42.40/hpoffice_print
Model: HP OfficeJet 5500 Foomatic/hpijs (recommended)

Issue:
After successfully adding the printer in KDE, tried to print a test page.
According to KDE, everything was fine. Print job appears in Windows host,
printer acknowledges that it is printing, print heads move and then nothing.
Copy light (what this printer uses to indicate printing) keeps flashing and
Printing is displayed in the printer's LCD screen. Print job still shows
in the Windows spooler but, nothing prints.

Steps to get to this point:
1) K - System Settings - Printers
2) Add - Add Printer/Class
3) Next
4) Other printer type (KDE was unable to detect printers over the network.
Not surprised as a password is needed to search the Windows shares on my
desktop.)
5) At URI Selection entered: smb://[login:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/hpoffice_print
(Login and password not displayed for obvious reasons. IP address is
statically assigned using DHCP on the router, share name is correct on Windows
box)
6) Selected Manufacturer: HP
7) Selected Model: OfiiceJet 5500 (Closest model - 5510 not listed) - No
check boxes selected
8) Clicked on Test button

Results of clicking Test button:
1) Received the message from KDE: Test page successfully sent to printer.
Wait until printing is complete, then click the OK button.
2) Print job appeared in Windows Spooler
3) COPY light started flashing on printer and Printing... appeared in LCD
screen
4) Print head moved a few times
5) Nothing else happened. Print job remained in spooler, Printing... still
appeared in printer LCD screen. No error messages from either system.

[Bug 84717] Re: SRU: updates necessary for Kubuntu Upgrade Tool in Edgy

2007-03-25 Thread TheReaperD
Unfortunately, it did not work in my case. I was trying to do an update
from Kubuntu 6.06LTS so, I was using the bootstrap method. There are
either steps missing from the instruction or simply didn't work. The
instructions need sudo in front of the mount commands. Everything
seemed to be going well, everything was working until I did the final
Fetch Updates. I did restart the Adept Manager per the instructions
before doing this. No upgrade option appeared and when I clicked on
Fetch Updates. Then I tried clicking on Full Upgrade and the Apply
button was not made available. I tried restarting the Adapt Manager, no
change. Attempted to reboot but system was no longer usable.
Thankfully, this was just a VMware image and of no real importance.

System info:
Was running Kubuntu 6.06LTS under VMware player1.0.3 build-34682
