[Bug 1078171] [NEW] py-asterisk can't authenticate with installed version of asterisk manager

2012-11-12 Thread Thomas Detoux
Public bug reported:

py-asterisk fails to authenticate to asterisk manager.

ubuntu version : Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
package version : 0.1a3+r160-4.1

Steps to reproduce :

- Configure asterisk manager
- On python console :

from Asterisk.Manager import Manager
manager = Manager(('localhost', 5038), 'login',
'yoursecretpassword')

- Stacktrace :
File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/Asterisk/Manager.py", line 209, in __init__
self._authenticate()
  File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/Asterisk/Manager.py", line 224, in
_authenticate
raise Exception('Server banner was incorrect.')
Exception: Server banner was incorrect.

It turns out that py-asterisk is expecting the precise line "Asterisk
Call Manager/1.0" from the manager while the version shipped with
precise reports "Asterisk Call Manager/1.1".

Proposed solutions :
- Backport version 0.4-1 from quantal where the bug is corrected.
or
- Patch version 0.1a3+r160-4.1 to match the expected string from Manager.

[Bug 349983] Re: MSI notebook VR630 (GeForce 9100M + Atheros AR928X) Failed to resume suspend

2010-01-13 Thread Thomas Detoux
Hello, thanks for coming by, I almost forgot this bug.

Using a up to date Karmik (not so fresh) installation, the suspend /
resume goes without problem. It even reconnect my wifi connection on
resume, I'm impressed.

I'd like to change the bug status to "solved elsewhere" but I guess the
most appropriate status would be "invalid".

Thanks again.

2009-04-01 Thread Thomas Detoux
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 240203 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/240203

Bug was already reported in gnome bugzilla :

It appears that this problems only occurs when the "French Alternative"
keyboard layout is used. That explains why so few of you could reproduce
this problem.

Switching to "France Lagacy" layout fix the problem.

This bug was also reported earlyer in launchpad :

Thanks for your comment Pedro, but I do put the focus on the search

Note that it works fine when I try to search multiple words BEFORE I

[Bug 350011] [NEW] compiz draws garbage to the screen. Then freeze. [GeForce 9100M G]

2009-03-27 Thread Thomas Detoux
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Compiz draws garbage to the screen. For a few seconds I can still move
the cursor but nothing reacts when I click (buttons, menus, ...). Then
the mouse pointer itself freeze and I have to reboot the hard way.

I can't figure out a 100% method to reproduce this bug, as it happens
randomly, but I can say that this happens when compiz is about to draw a
new window. The area to be drawn is then filled with garbage.

I think the problem comes from compiz because it doesn't happens when
desktop effects are disabled.

[Bug 349983] [NEW] Failed to resume suspend

2009-03-27 Thread Thomas Detoux
Public bug reported:

I was doing the first suspend/resume test from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/SuspendResumeTesting

The suspend went well, but the resume didn't complete. The CPU woke up
(I guess, because the fans were active), some leds went on again (caps
lock, power, and the "wifi active" led) but the screen remained black.

I had to do somes key presses to have the screen light up again (can't
figure out wich one did the trick, I pressed too much of them), but even
with the screen on, I never got my desktop back. Instead, I was in front
of a all-black screen with a mouse pointer working (I was able to move
it).

resuming properly.

[Bug 296993] Re: guest session doesn't use files in /etc/skel to create new user's home

2009-01-02 Thread Thomas Detoux
Thanks David,

But I have bad news, the users of the forum that pointed me the problem
told me that my patch didn't work as expected. It doesn't copy the
hidden files. As these people wanted to use this hack to copy config
files (ie hidden), this doesn't work at all.

To make it copy the right files, I'll had to change the cp line with :

cp -rT /etc/skel/ "$HOME"

Here is a patch against my previous version (ie the one now in your
branch if I followed correctly).

[Bug 296993] [NEW] guest session doesn't use files in /etc/skel to create new user's home

2008-11-11 Thread Thomas Detoux
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm-guest-session

Hello,

Further persons in different forums have asked how to customise the
guest session. It appears that theses scripts doesn't use the /etc/skel
as a skeleton for the new user's home directory.

I have made a little hack to copy the content of the /home/skel
directory into the new home folder.

This is my first hack, and I'm not sure I'm doing it right : I don't use
any variable for the directory /etc/skel and furthermore we could want
to get the guest skel from a different directory (e.g. /etc/skel.guest)
to separate normal new users and guests.

And, I don't realy know how to make a good patch, so I'll just add my
modified version for the script. My modifications are on lines 45 and
46.

Thanks

2008-09-18 Thread Thomas Detoux
@David Prieto

If you really want the latest version of elisa, you can add the elisa
dev' repo to your repository list (at your own risk) just follow this
link :

[Bug 271211] Re: update to 0.5.10

2008-09-17 Thread Thomas Detoux
The fact is that the elisa team release a new 0.5.x version every weeks.

These versions can be considered as minor version (they contain
bugfixes) or major versions (they contain new features).

So the question is should we update the intrepid package every week (to
give the bugfixes to users) or should we freeze to the last 0.5.x
version available before feature freeze ?

[Bug 217486] [NEW] Can't mount /home xfs filesystem after hardy update

2008-04-14 Thread Thomas Detoux
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: initscripts

Hello, I was using/testing Hardy.

After todays (or yesterday's) update the system hanged when finishing
the install (last message was "configuring amarok, but I'm pretty sure
amarok is not the problem).

After a dirty reboot, I found my system unusable.

gdm didn't start.
I was able to switch to console mode using ++ ...
... only to find out that my HOME directory didn't exist : I have /home on a
separate (xfs) partition, which is not mounted.
I discovered that I could not use sudo anymore (message "sudo: unable to
resolve host (none)".

I rebooted to recovery mode and mounted my unmounted file-systems. It
replayed the journal and unmounted it (i thought first that the init
process failed to replay the journal) but it didn't help.

Tell me what files you need me to attach, it will be a real adventure to
get them (no home directory to write temporary file, no sudo to mount
external device, and I forgot this : the network device is down, so no
network device either and while on recovery mode, I as unable to set the
root passord : something about a lock token).

Thanks for your help.

** Affects: sysvinit (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 181386] Re: LiveCD monitor resolution too high

2008-03-31 Thread Thomas Detoux
I confirm this bug.

Step to reproduce :
- Use an unbranded monitor (or a monitor that fails to inform the OS of its
maximum resolution)
- Use a graphic card that support a higher resolution than your monitor support.

My guess : the liveCD use by default the maximum reslution supported by the
graphic card.
Suggestion : either use a reasonable default resolution (like 800x600) and let
the user increase it afterward or start with the higher resolution and decrease
it until the user see and click on a
you-have-thirty-seconds-to-click-ok-if-you-can-see-this-message-or-the-resolution-will-be-decreased'
 like message.

[Bug 150460] Re: Login fails, failsafe login fails, gconf doesn't start

2007-10-13 Thread Thomas Detoux
I have been experiencing the same problems (I've been dueling with my
laptop for hours to have a working session to repport this bug, and got
sometime so frustrated I was an inch away from installing another
distro).

What else can I say about this bug ...

First, the gnome "features" that doesn't work are not all the same, I always
had the login sound, but I never had the gnome splash welcome screen.
I sometimes had no panels, and I've experienced a few times where I had just
one panel (the tom one, the bottom one being absent).
I too, sometime had my desktop (background with icons) or nothing at all (just
a bacground color, no picture).

By the way, if I have the panels or at least one panel, that means that
the desktop is ok, I never experienced it the other way (pannel without
desktop).

I too, made some experiment, I didn't create a temporary account but moved my
home directory to a temporary directory (my idea was that I had some bad
tweaking / options and I wanted to start with a clean home folder). This time,
the login was perfect, I then transfered my documents from my temp folder to my
brand new working home folder and made a few tweakings :
- I changed the background (used the bacground elephant)
- I added the system monitor applet to my top panel
- I changed the number of workspaces from 2 to 4
- I changed the 3D visual effect from normal to extra (this may be important)

I then rebooted and tryed to log again with my new tweaked home
directory, and I found myself with a nice but useless desktop (with my
new background) but no panels, I was able to right click it and get a
contextual menu, I even created a new folder that apperad on my desktop.

I was a bit frustrated, you can guess, but I didn't stop. I moved again
my home folder and created a new empty one, I the logged in that
account, and found myself with the same desktop, with no panels, note
that THE BACROUND IMAGE WAS THE ONE I CHANGED FOR WITH MY ANCIENT
ACCOUNT, I was I think supposed to see the default bacground as I was
loging in using an empty home folder, without any config file or gconf
base.

I used my girlfriend account to write this comment, it work and has
never stopped working (but has never bean tweaked).

I attach my Xsession-error file to this comment

[Bug 82099] Re: Sounds are taken over by java programs

2007-09-30 Thread Thomas Detoux
Hi,

I experienced this problem (although for me the sound come back as soon
as I stop the java applet, sometime I had to stop firefox too, but I
never had to kill the X server).

An intersting workaround, for people awaiting this bug to be fixed : I
you start a program using sound (eg. Totem) BEFORE starting your java
applet, then you will be able to hear the sound of your program (note,
you well not hear the sound of the java applet, depends wich one you
prefer).
