[Bug 1877889] Re: Intermittent hangs on boot Ubuntu 20.04 on Lenovo E595

2020-05-27 Thread Thorsten Bonhagen
My e595 is my main develop machine, qt dev, lots of ssh connections, virtualbox
+ many firefox tabs with sometime youtube vids and many thunderbird imap
accounts.
And with the freeze is not even sysreq+"reisub" possible.
The e595 not have a rs232 so i cannot console to second machine, what i would
do to see what happen :-(
And i think non of the kernel can use ttyusb for kernel console because ttyusb
is always "m" not "y" compiled. But i didn't try yet. Maybe next days i will
try ...

please keep an eye on freezes after random time, for me "nomodeset" do
not fix freezes during operation especially in battery mode.

eth_check() {
for device in $(clevis_all_netbootable_devices); do
for i in {1..12}; do
ip link set dev $device up
sleep 1
ETH_HAS_CARRIER=$(cat /sys/class/net/"$device"/carrier)

[Bug 1840755] [NEW] [CTRL][ALT][F2]-[F8] not working after ttyX logout

2019-08-20 Thread Thorsten Bonhagen
Public bug reported:

Hi,

after successfully logged out of tty2 it is not possible to change back
to tty2, tty3 etc.

to reproduce:
with sddm running and graphically logged out:
1) login tty2
2) logout tty2 -> sddm login screen is visible after tty2 logout
4) pressing [CTRL][ALT][F2]-[F8] not working (not switch to tty2 etc.)
5) pressing [CTRL][ALT][F1]
6) pressing [CTRL][ALT][F2]-[F8] working (switch to tty2 etc. possible)

imho [CTRL][ALT][F2]-[F8] should also work after logout tty
