Two years later, this bug is still not fixed. I just updated to lucid
with no improvements.

Why is no-one looking at the changes between: 2.6.24-5 and 2.6.24-7 ?
That's the moment when the error was 'implemented' in ubuntu.

Really, when is someone going to fix this? How hard can it be to check
the differences between 2.6.24-5 and 2.6.24-7 and roll back the changes
made for the soundcard I have? I'm not a kernel or alsa hacker so I have

[Bug 321646] Re: touchpad button acts strange

2009-01-29 Thread Tijmen Ruizendaal (timing)
I think I have the same problem. Also running Jaunty.

I can add a different thing:

If I select text (for example in a terminal) and I replace my finger on
the touchpad while holding the left button down (which means I want to
keep selecting text) it'll paste the already selected text at the
current cursor location. The selection is gone. So I guess it ends the
selection if I remove my finger from the touchpad. But it also pastes
immediately because I still have the left mousebutton down.

Sound still not working.

Just watched a YouTube video with my external soundcard. Then I sent the
sound with pulseaudio to my built in card. Looks like there is some
progress tho, during silent parts I hear a small bit of noise. When
someone talks in a video I hear more noise and a bit of the person
talking. very unclear though. Earlier it was just 'tick krrgt tick'.

[Bug 183845] Re: No Compiz after suspend or hybernate

2008-03-23 Thread Tijmen Ruizendaal (timing)
Forgot to check into this bug, my apologies.

Anyway, I just tried a suspend (with the latest updates). Then after
relogin compiz was still running. So that's good. This was the first
time I tried the suspend again since this report. No idea when this
problem was actually fixed.

[Bug 189766] [NEW] Epiphany: "I'll be careful, I Promise!" button does not work in about:config

2008-02-06 Thread Tijmen Ruizendaal (timing)
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

I have epiphany version 2.21.90. When going to about:config there is
this warning:

"Be careful, this gun is loaded!"

There is a button where I can click on, to confirm that I'm really
really sure to change settings in about:config. However, clicking the
button doesn't do anything.

[Bug 183845] No Compiz after suspend or hybernate

2008-01-17 Thread Tijmen Ruizendaal (timing)
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

After coming back from hibernate or suspend (works fine all the time), compiz
is not running anymore (there is nothing in ps aux / top). While it was on
before I went to hibernate.
Looks like it's not even trying to startup Compiz after relogin.
I can just run compiz --replace and I have my compiz back :-).

[Bug 182284] no direct rendering after upgrade to hardy

2008-01-12 Thread Tijmen Ruizendaal (timing)
Public bug reported:

After an upgrade from gutsy to hardy, i didn't have any direct rendering
anymore, scrolling in webpages was slow and such.
The weird thing is that glxinfo shows: direct rendering: No
(LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT set)

but, sudo glxinfo shows: direct rendering: Yes

unsetting LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT didn't do anything.

furthermore, the output of id:
uid=1000(tijmen) gid=1000(tijmen)
groups=4(adm),20(dialout),24(cdrom),25(floppy),29(audio),30(dip),44(video),46(plugdev),104(scanner),108(lpadmin),110(admin),115(netdev),117(powerdev),1000(tijmen)

so, my user is in the video group.

The device: crw-rw-rw- 1 root video 226, 0 2008-01-12 11:34 card0

Output of lspci:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS,
943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML
Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

I use the intel driver.

If I have this line in my xorg.conf. compiz and scrolling is working better
then:
 Option "AccelMethod" "xaa".
Still no DRI though.

I think it's just some sort of setting, somewhere. If so, it's still a
bug in the updating meganism.

Re: [Bug 125842] Re: package mythtv-database 0.20.1+fixes13837-0.0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2007-07-14 Thread Tijmen Ruizendaal \(timing\)
I just did another apt-get upgrade. The mythtv wizard didn't show up. I
don't think mythtv was part of the upgrade. but i did a partial upgrade just
yet. If mythtv is part of an upcoming upgrade here, i will add another
comment.

[Bug 125842] Re: package mythtv-database 0.20.1+fixes13837-0.0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2007-07-14 Thread Tijmen Ruizendaal \(timing\)
I was doing apt-get upgrade (at least that's what I think the GUI
updater is running underneath). I have gutsy for a month now or so. The
installer asked if i wanted to do a partial upgrade, but i just pressed
close and then: 'install updates'.

The Mythtv installation wizard appeared as well. I think i pressed
'next' three times. Then i received all those errors.
