[Bug 728969] Re: Wireless connection very slow and weak on Natty Alpha 3
My Eee 901 is of the kind originally sold with Xandros and with the 16+4 GB SSD. The BIOS is revision 1703. I have never had these issues with earlier versions of Ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/728969 Title: Wireless connection very slow and weak on Natty Alpha 3 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 728969] Re: Wireless connection very slow and weak on Natty Alpha 3
I have the Eee 901 as well, and I've experienced some wireless issues too. I have had the problem of losing my connection entirely when I detach the power cord and run on battery. The workaround that seems to work for me is first to disable wireless networking with Fn+F2, detach the power cord, and after this enable wireless again with Fn+F2. After this the connection stays up and performs normally.
[Bug 675717] [NEW] Square format cropping does not produce a square image
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: shotwell Shotwell gives inconsistent results when trying to make a square crop of an image. Sometimes the results are fine, meaning that the height equals the width, but other times the result is off by one or two pixels. For example, an image that should be 600x600 pixels is 600x601 instead. It seems to me that cropping large images exacerbates the problem, while smaller images are usually fine. [Bug 659405] Re: Xorg crashes on suspend
Bryce, I tried to collect a backtrace last night with no success. I will try again when I find the time. And I will do an apport-collect whenever X crashes. The crash is not really related to anything in particular as far as I can see. It seems to make no difference what applications are running for example. Just that every once in a while when I wake up the machine from suspend my session is no longer there. One thing I noticed while playing around with gdb was that if I suspend from the virtual terminal command line instead of from the desktop menu, X does not seem to crash. [Bug 662640] [NEW] Rotate keys are bad for many kinds of keyboards
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: shotwell Shotwell uses the square bracket ("[" and "]") keyboard shortcuts for rotating photos. This is fine for users of US/UK keyboards and other keyboards in which one is not required to use a modifier key to get the square brackets. However it is quite annoying for myself and others with different keyboard layouts. I for example have to use AltGr+8 and AltGr+9 to get them. Because I rarely use the square brackets, I cannot find them on the keyboard without looking. This means I rarely use them for rotation. On Thu, 2010-07-08 at 06:57 +, Chow Loong Jin wrote: > Banshee highlights in bold the playlist Banshee is playing from. The > selected playlist is the one that is displayed, however. Actually I find this not to be true in every situation. For example, right now for me Play Queue is in bold, and yet Banshee is playing a track from the music library. It seems Play Queue is always in bold if it has unplayed tracks, no matter if these tracks are actually playing at the moment. It seems that the play queue takes priority over WYSIWYG in a somewhat strange way. If the play queue has unplayed tracks, you cannot make Banshee play an entire album in the music library just by clicking the album. If in such a situation you double-click an album icon in the browser, Banshee plays the first track of the album and after that switches to the play queue. And after the play queue has finished, Banshee then returns to play the second track of the album and from there on advances to the next tracks of the album until the end. -- Timo Laine http://www.timoroso.com/ -- Banshee selects next track according to current view https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/602597 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 602597] Re: Banshee selects next track according to current view
Many thanks for the thoughtful comment, Chow Loong Jin. Although I disagree with the idea, I am happy to hear that at least some thought has been given to it. I will consider discussing the matter on the mailing list, but just for the sake of completeness, I will write a short reply here as well. What you call counter-intuitive I consider intuitive and vice versa, so that is of course something to discuss; I do accept that we are not talking about a straightforward bug here and that the invalid status is therefore correct. By the way, I noticed that Apple in their iTunes have decided on a third option: stop playing tracks altogether if the user has changed the track view. I did not realize this before, and it has made me reconsider some aspects of my opinion. Generally, although not always, Apple gets these things right. I guess I would be happy with the way Banshee works if it was possible to program at least the play queue just to keep on advancing while I browsed the other tracks. (This is what iTunes does as well.) But it seems that the play queue has several other bugs, one of which I have already reported and another one that I just noticed and will report as soon as I understand it. The reason I stopped using the play queue was because it behaved in an unpredictable way, and I have not even been able to understand even how it should work, not to mention how it actually does work. I will take the matter to other forums (and other bug reports) so that I may find at least one way to use Banshee without problems. -- Banshee selects next track according to current view https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/602597 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 602597] [NEW] Banshee selects next track according to current view
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: banshee The method Banshee uses to select the next track to play has a problem. It does not select the next track based on what is currently playing, but based on what is currently visible in the track browser. For example, I select Album A in the browser, and double-click the first track to start playing the album. Then, before the album is over, I browse Album B without double-clicking any tracks. The expected behavior is to continue playing Album A. However, if when a track on Album A ends I am at that moment browsing Album B, Banshee starts to play the first track of Album B. In other words, Banshee does not seem to allow mere browsing of albums and tracks but considers it a decision on what to play next. This is of course wrong. It then opens up a dialog titled "Banshee Encountered a Fatal Error" with the following content: An unhandled exception was thrown: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at Banshee.MediaEngine.PlayerEngine.OnTagFound (Banshee.Streaming.StreamTag) <0x0009b> at Banshee.GStreamer.PlayerEngine.OnTagFound (intptr,string,GLib.Value&) <0x00035> at (wrapper native-to-managed) Banshee.GStreamer.PlayerEngine.OnTagFound (intptr,intptr,GLib.Value&) <0x000af> at (wrapper managed-to-native) Gtk.Application.gtk_main () <0x4> at Gtk.Application.Run () <0xa> at Banshee.Gui.GtkBaseClient.Run () <0x00054> at Banshee.Gui.GtkBaseClient.Startup () <0x00044> at Hyena.Gui.CleanRoomStartup.Startup (Hyena.Gui.CleanRoomStartup/StartupInvocationHandler) <0x00089> .NET Version: 2.0.50727.1433 OS Version: Unix 2.6.32.23 Assembly Version Information: System.Configuration (2.0.0.0) NDesk.DBus.Proxies (0.0.0.0) Mono.Zeroconf.Providers.AvahiDBus (4.0.0.90) Mono.Zeroconf (4.0.0.90) Banshee.Dap.MassStorage (1.6.0.0) taglib-sharp (2.0.3.7) Banshee.InternetArchive (1.6.0.0) Banshee.FileSystemQueue (1.6.0.0) Banshee.InternetRadio (1.6.0.0) Banshee.PlayQueue (1.6.0.0) Banshee.AudioCd (1.6.0.0) Banshee.CoverArt (1.6.0.0) Banshee.Bookmarks (1.6.0.0) Lastfm (1.6.0.0) Banshee.Daap (1.6.0.0) Banshee.Dap (1.6.0.0) Migo (1.6.0.0) Banshee.Podcasting (1.6.0.0) Banshee.LibraryWatcher (1.6.0.0) Banshee.Bpm (1.6.0.0) Banshee.Lastfm (1.6.0.0) pango-sharp (2.12.0.0) Banshee.Widgets (1.6.0.0) Banshee.Hal (1.6.0.0) Banshee.Unix (1.6.0.0) Banshee.GStreamer (1.6.0.0) Mono.Media (1.6.0.0) System.Transactions (2.0.0.0) NDesk.DBus.GLib (1.0.0.0) gconf-sharp (2.24.0.0) Banshee.Gnome (1.6.0.0) Banshee.NowPlaying (1.6.0.0) Mono.Cairo (2.0.0.0) System.Data (2.0.0.0) Mono.Data.Sqlite (1.6.0.0) System.Xml (2.0.0.0) System.Core (3.5.0.0) gdk-sharp (2.12.0.0) Mono.Addins (0.4.0.0) atk-sharp (2.12.0.0) Hyena.Gui (1.6.0.0) gtk-sharp (2.12.0.0) Banshee.Core (1.6.0.0) Banshee.ThickClient (1.6.0.0) Nereid (1.6.0.0) NDesk.DBus.Proxies (0.0.0.0) Mono.Posix (2.0.0.0) System (2.0.0.0) Hyena (1.6.0.0) NDesk.DBus (1.0.0.0) glib-sharp (2.12.0.0) Banshee.Services (1.6.0.0) Banshee (1.6.0.0) mscorlib (2.0.0.0) Platform Information: Linux 2.6.32-23-generic i686 unknown GNU/Linux Disribution Information: [/etc/lsb-release] DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=10.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=lucid DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 10.04 LTS" [/etc/debian_version] squeeze/sid ** Affects: banshee (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Banshee endlessly repeats the final track of the play queue https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/601949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 298346] Re: "Sticky Notes Importer" Tomboy's Addin doesn't work
Apparently there is still a problem with the add-ins and the Tools menu. No matter what I do, I can't seem to be able to get Sticky Notes Importer or any other add-in to appear in the Tools menu. There is just one item, Synchronize Notes. No error messages appear. When I start Tomboy from a terminal window, it just outputs this: [INFO 11:05:18.358] Initializing Mono.Addins -- "Sticky Notes Importer" Tomboy's Addin doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/298346 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
