Thank you for your further question. I have solved this problem to re-install Ubu 10.04.1 So, somewhere there must have been a software problem. Thanks anyway. D. [Bug 215068] Re: pidgin crashes when message window is left clicked repeatedly
I have also had this happen to me. I was chatting with a friend and pasted text from a log using right click > paste as plain text. After sending approximately five posts I had left the other tab to a chat room open. It was red, and I tried switching to that tab. Unfortunately when this happened I wasn't running in debug mode, I'll try to reproduce this effect with debug enabled and run from command line. Hopefully I can reproduce this. If I can I'll post an attachment here. -- pidgin crashes when message window is left clicked repeatedly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 195132] Re: font color changes after pasting text
This only appears to happen when using CTRL+V instead of right clicking and choosing Paste As Plain Text when pasting text formatted differently from your own. Often I have to use CTRL+UP to switch back to my text formatting but this is only useful IF I've posted in the instant messenger or chat window using that format. -- font color changes after pasting text https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195132 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 130584] ext3 usb hdd detected as ntfs-3g
Public bug reported: I use a toshiba Tecra S2 laptop with gutsy i386 and a Desktop (IBM Thinkcentre) with Gutsy AMD64. I use a 80gb usb laptop hard disk which has ext3 fs to copy my backups to the desktop. After the weekend updates my hdd would not mount on my laptop. dmesg says unknown fs type. Gparted shows it as ext3, but when I check for errors it says that it cannot be mounted as it is ntfs-3g. If I remove the partitions and format it again, it works well after checking the disk with e2fsck on the laptop or desktop. But when I connect it to the other machine it wont auto mount. If I run gparted I get the error saying that "the volume uses ntfs-3g which is not supported by my system" - but in the graphical display still shows it as ext3. I got an error a couple of times saying that the superblock might be corrupted and I should run e2fsck with an alternate superblock, but that doesnt work either. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ext3 usb hdd detected as ntfs-3g https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130584 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

yes I realised it too. Got at least 30 of them one after the other so stopped immediately. It happened only after the reboot after the update, subsequent logins are ok. Whats strange is I started receiving crash reports of apps that were not even running. Thank you. Re: [Bug 122484] Re: slune crashed with SIGSEGV
Sorry, but it didnt happen again. I downloaded the updates and it asked me for a restart which it did and then after the gdm login, I got at least 30 crash reports one after the other. If I knew there would be so many I wouldn't have filed a bug report as I finally gave up. Surprisingly It was showing crash reports for applications which I was not even running. After having administered about a zillion GNU/Linux distros since Slackware 0.9x in the early 90s, I switched to Ubuntu about two years ago and haven't looked back since. It is simply the most reliable and easiest to administer distribution with which I've ever worked. And coming out with a fix within hours of the kernel problem popping up says a lot. By the way, to work around the problem, all I had to do was press the key at GRUB time and select the previous kernel. Then I modified /boot/grub/menu.lst. What's the big deal? Keep up the great work, gang. Solved(?) this problem on another Toshiba Staellite A100-SK4 (PSAA8C-SK400E) by following most of the directions here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto However, contrary to that document, this is the entry that I appended to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base to get the sound to work properly: options snd-hda-intel model=auto The sound now seems to be working. At least it has over the past two reboots. -- [Feisty] Very low volume on Toshiba satellite a100-155 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/93859 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
