[Bug 1780323] [NEW] boot from usb freezes

2018-07-05 Thread Tommy Pollák
Public bug reported:

When i try to boot a HP laptop, 15-CB011NO, from a USB stick with Ubuntu
18.04 it boots and shows directly the desktop, but then I can not take
any further actions. The mouse moves the cursor but nothing happens when
I click.

I have followed the recommendations what to change in the EFI.

Here is what the USB stick contains

[Bug 1780319] [NEW] openssl des3 decryption fails in 18.04

2018-07-05 Thread Tommy Pollák
Public bug reported:

Since I upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04 I get

~$ openssl des3 -d /tmp/loesenord.htm
enter des-ede3-cbc decryption password:
bad decrypt
140555004862912:error:06065064:digital envelope
routines:EVP_DecryptFinal_ex:bad decrypt:../crypto/evp/evp_enc.c:536:

The encryption was done with Ubuntu 17.10. And the decryption worked
well in 17.10.

Encryption/decryption in Ubuntu 18.04 works well.

[Bug 1728730] Re: duplicity gets stuck

2017-11-02 Thread Tommy Pollák
Though I downloaded
linux-headers-4.14.0-041400rc7_4.14.0-041400rc7.201710292231_all.deb
linux-headers-4.14.0-041400rc7-generic_4.14.0-041400rc7.201710292231_i386.deb
linux-image-4.14.0-041400rc7-generic_4.14.0-041400rc7.201710292231_i386.deb
and executed
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
I can not see 4.14 when booting. So I listed /lib/modules
~$ ls /lib/modules/
3.11.0-19-generic 3.19.0-31-generic 3.8.0-31-generic
3.13.0-37-generic 3.2.0-45-generic-pae 4.10.0-37-generic
3.16.0-36-generic 3.5.0-37-generic 4.13.0-16-generic

Obviously I have missed to do something. What? sudo apt-get ??

** Description changed:

In 16.10 duplicity seemed to run out of memory. In 17.04 duplicity
  worked again to my satisfaction.

- Now in 17.10 there is a problem with duplicity again. It seems to get
- stuck after a while. I can move the mouse and see the pointer move on
- the display but nothing else works. Only way to get on is to power off
- (and power on again).

[Bug 1728730] [NEW] duplicity gets stuck

2017-10-30 Thread Tommy Pollák
Public bug reported:

In 16.10 duplicity seemed to run out of memory. In 17.04 duplicity
worked again to my satisfaction.

Now in 17.10 there is a problem with duplicity again. It seems to get
stuck after a while. I can move the mouse and see the pointer move on
the display but nothing else works. Only way to get on is to power off
(and power on again).

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Incomplete

[Bug 1646978] Re: Ubuntu Web Browser does not recognise file:///

2017-01-15 Thread Tommy Pollák
The answer to bug 1563214:
I found that is possible to browse and open local files, simply in the
search bar put the file/directory path, for example: "/home/phablet/my-
html-file.html"
does not work for me. The incomplete URL is immediately changed to file:///...
and gives the result described in the bug description.

I think that the problem is that "local" URLs can not be shown.
http://localhost/... works fine.

I have removed the link "Is duplicate of bug 1563214."

** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1563214

[Bug 1646978] [NEW] Ubuntu Web Browser does not recognise file:///

2016-12-02 Thread Tommy Pollák
Public bug reported:

The URL file:///media/OS/Users/Tommy/Documents/index.html results in
"Network Error It appears you are having trouble viewing:
file:///media/OS/Users/Tommy/Documents/index.html. Please check your
network settings and try refreshing the page." in the Ubuntu Web
Browser, whereas both Firefox and Chromium show the file without any
problems.

Ubuntu 16.10, release 16.10

~$ apt-cache policy webbrowser-app

I guess the browser can not show URLS starting with file:///. This seems

[Bug 1604161] [NEW] Chromium does not honor DOM Javascript variable document.lastModified

2016-07-18 Thread Tommy Pollák
Public bug reported:

It seems that the Chromium web browser Version 51.0.2704.79 Ubuntu 16.04
sets the JavaScript variable document.lastModified to the current date
and time if the document is browsed with the file protocol, e.g.
file:///media/OS/Users

Firefox shows 2016-07-18 17:36:12 for my document whereas Chromium for
the same document now shows 2016-07-18 17:46:36, a time that changes
every time the page is loaded.

Exactly the same JavaScript function works perfectly well for Chromium
when provided by HTTP, see http://www.osttimorkommitten.se/.

many copies in different places of the screen and it seems to jump
between two different positions. How to avoid this?

[Bug 1245010] Re: HPLIP crashes missing libnetsnmp.so.15

2013-10-31 Thread Tommy Pollák
Yes! Thanks a lot for your efforts. Removing the two symbolic links and
the file /usr/lib64/libhpmud.so.0.6 made HPLIP Toolbox and Simple scan
work.

Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 13.10, HPLIP 3.13.9 with simple-scan and xsane

HPLIP crashes when started with diagnostic ImportError in
/usr/share/hplip/base/status.py:libnetsnmp.so.15: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory.

I have tried to remove and reinstall in Ubuntu Software Center but that
did not make any difference.

I have tried to dwonload HPLIP 3.13.10, but the download did not start.

** Affects: ubuntu
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1245010] Re: HPLIP crashes missing libnetsnmp.so.15

2013-10-26 Thread Tommy Pollák
This is my first try. Could also be hplip as such.

** Package changed: ubuntu = hplip (Ubuntu)
