[Bug 1797282] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 Server: fsck not running at all on reboot

2018-10-10 Thread tomtom
** Summary changed:

- fsck not running on reboot when fsck.mode=force is set
+ Ubuntu 18.04 Server: fsck not running at all on reboot

** Summary changed:

- Ubuntu 18.04 Server: fsck not running at all on reboot
+ fsck not running at all on reboot

** Description changed:

After upgrading some servers from 16.04 to 18.04 I'm met with a MOTD
  that says:

*** /dev/xvda1 should be checked for errors ***

  I added "fsck.mode=force" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in
/etc/default/grub before running 'sudo update-grub'. I also verified
that fsck was present in /boot/grub/grub.cfg afterwards, before
  rebooting the server.

Surprisingly I was met with the same error message in MOTD when logging
in. I then ran tune2fs to see when the last check was performed and this
  is the output:

  $ sudo tune2fs -l /dev/xvda1  | grep checked
  Last checked: Wed Sep 12 16:17:00 2018

  I then tried to change mount count to 1 with tune2fs -c 1 /dev/xvda1,
but after another reboot I was still met with the same error message and
the timestamp for last checked was unchanged.

I have the same problem on all the servers that was upgraded from 16.04
to 18.04, but also on a new server installed directly with 18.04.

In should be mentioned that the servers are AWS EC2 instances, so I have
no way of trying to run fsck from a liveusb.

Another user has reported the same issue here:
  https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2403368

I'm not quite sure what information is needed, but attached are some
  basic information about the system.

Please let me know if you need any any other outputs or logs.
+
+ Edit1: I tested fsck.mode=force on my laptop running Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
+ (Xubuntu) and it works fine. Seems to be related to the server edition.

[Bug 471510] [NEW] I cannot open any file on my non OS partitions. No application appeared to crash, I just noticed the crash symbol when this problem occured.

2009-11-02 Thread TomTom
Public bug reported:

I had problems reading from additional partitions on the same disk at my
/ partition. I only noticed the crash report icon this evening as I was
still having the same issue. I cannot remember any application crashing
as the apps I was using last night were all still open. I recently
upgraded to 9.10 having previously been running a beta version.

I have not rebooted yet as I wanted to try a few different things to see
if I could access my data, like un mounting and re mounting but they did
not work. I can browse the content of the partition no problem with
thumnails for some of the videos loading but they are unplayable.

[Bug 97720] Re: Internet Radio Audio Freezes in Rythmbox Music Player

2009-01-23 Thread Tomtom
I've a similar issue when I listen to the radio and I double click to another
radio station.
Bug is not 100% repeatable for example the sequence of operation I do:
-Open Rhythmbox
-clic on radio
-double clic on radio channel A
-wait until radio channel A is playing
-switch to radio channel B (via double clic)
-wait until radio channel B is playing
-switch to radio channel A (via double clic)

The number of loop switching radio channel A to B variate from 1 to 5
(most of the time 1 to 3)

Running 0.11.6 on Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 Intel dualcore T2080 2GO of ram.

 Hi Dimitrios,
All the other PDF I've downloaded and checked can be printed.

You are on the right way, it's linked to the file.

 Warm regards and good luck,
 TD

 Hello Dimitrios,
 File is attached.
I create it with PNG picture (scanned with Xsane) and put together with
OpenOffice.org writer and then push the button export to PDF.

 2008/12/17 Dimitrios Symeonidis azim...@gmail.com

could you please attach the pdf document?

Re: [Bug 308197] Re: evince not able to print on the full page

2008-12-17 Thread Tomtom
I already check and try out different page orientation. I also try different
scale in the file-print-page setup
Only approx 20% of the A4 paper is used. This is the same as what the print
preview show me.

Warm regards,

TD

2008/12/15 Dimitrios Symeonidis azim...@gmail.com

this looks like something in the print setup: open the pdf document with
evince, then go to file - print setup and change the orientation...
