[Bug 1629204] Re: Autofs parameter substitution broken in kernel 4.4.0-38 and 4.4.0-40
Are you serious? You release a new kernel 4.4.0-45 without the fixes in 4.4.0-44 sitting in -proposed? What do you think -proposed is meant for? [Bug 733836] Re: "Error: file not found" when booting, then boots up anyway
The bug report was opened for natty and it seems that a grub-install fixes this for everyone and for later releases, too. This seems to be an issue only after upgrades and is no real problem because the system continues to boot after a key press. grub-install also fixes this for me after jumping from 12.04 ( - 12.10 - 13.04 ) - 13.10. ** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/733836 Title: "Error: file not found" when booting, then boots up anyway To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/733836/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1205452] Re: Eclipse unusable in Kubuntu Saucy (almost immediate JVM segfault)
Same problem here with 13.10 upgraded since 12.04. With upgrading eclipse was updated to 3.8 and all my plugins were gone so I tried to reinstalled it but it crashed. Checked everything - deleted config, tried different plugins in different order. Sometimes I had one install successful, but next install: crash again. Finally I searched the web – switched GTK2 style to Raleigh. Everything works – but looks awkward. This is NO solution because every program using GTK2 looks strange after that, e.g. thunderbird. I wanted to stick with the eclipse version from the repositories but maybe I'll try an update to Kepler if it is fixed there. The look and feel is really bad. Maybe you can just update the eclipse version in this release. I saw that 3.8.1 is also planned for trusty, so please address this bug! I attached a crash report. ** Attachment added: "hs_err_pid25778.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eclipse/+bug/1205452/+attachment/3888964/+files/hs_err_pid25778.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1205452 Title: Eclipse unusable in Kubuntu Saucy (almost immediate JVM segfault) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eclipse/+bug/1205452/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1167189] Re: boot failure with linux-image-3.2.0-40-generic
Forgot to mention that it is a 32-bit install, so it affects both 32- and 64-bit kernels. No log entry is made in /var/log/syslog when boot failure occurs, so no trace of what is going wrong. [Bug 1167189] Re: boot failure with linux-image-3.2.0-40-generic
Same for me on a Samsung R60 notebook. I changed the title (hope it's okay) because it has nothing to do with neither "quiet splash" in grub nor full encryption. My boot parameters are empty, except removing plymouth it is a quite normal install. Removed plymouth on more than five systems on which 3.2.0-40 works well, so it is not the point. The boot failure is not happening with 3.2.0-39! Setting "nomodeset" fixes the problem, but it is a no-go that a security upgrade on the kernel breaks the system. If I kill the system and boot again grub pops up and asks for a kernel to load as always when you hardreset a system. If you choose 3.2.0-40 it boots! Then I shutdown and boot again...again black screen. [Bug 869635] Re: long delay at shutdown/reboot - network-manager doesn't close correctly
#19 also did it for me. It is quite annoying to see Ubuntu shutdown almost as long as Windows, so please fix this issue! It is not a big deal changing the filenames, so please update as fast as possible. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/869635 Title: long delay at shutdown/reboot - network-manager doesn't close correctly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/869635/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 867570] [NEW] direct burning of data-cd results in unreadable disk
Public bug reported: If you burn a data-cd and choose the first option, "burn directly, do not save on hard disk", (I don't know how it is labeled in English, my GUI is German) brasero will burn and tell that it did successfully, but the disk is unreadable. If you disable and burn with first creating an image, the disk is okay. I tried it with audio-cd, it is not affected. Appeared on two laptops, mine being a Toshiba C650D and my girlfriend's being a Packard Bell TK85. Workaround worked on both laptops. Please test on other systems to confirm! Trying to read disk: /var/log/syslog remains quiet if you wait for automount. Trying "mount -t iso9660 /dev/dvd /media/test" results in error-message: ISOFS: Unable to identify CD-ROM format. [Bug 609308] Re: No alert when binding keys twice. Unbind not possible.
Hi Pedro! Thanks for the response! I tested the reported bug with fresh settings on 11.04...but it persists. Now I can get more into detail: It only affects the Mod4-key. I updated the description, please look at the example. Being a minor bug the importance can stay low, but you should keep that in mind...an unbind-feature would be great. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center - if you bind a key-combo twice, you don't get alerted anymore. Older - versions had that. You can't unbind the keys either. + if you bind a key-combo with Mod4 twice, you don't get alerted anymore. + Older versions had that. You can't unbind the keys either. + + Example: + + Mod4+W for Firefox is bound. If you bind Mod4+W for Mail, it does that + without alerting you that the Combo is used twice. So that's an error + ONLY with the Mod4-key. Now, if you want to RESET or DELETE the binding + of Mail, you can't do that unless you bind another combo, but you don't + always want that. + + Still happens with 11.04!
