[Bug 216727] Re: T61p suspend not resuming with 2.6.24.16 generic
Switching from nv to the nvidia-glx restricted driver seemed to make resume work for me: - HP Paviliion dv9230 - nVidia 8600 m - Hardy Heron 8.04 I'd really rather use the free driver: I hope the information helps the nv team get closer. [Bug 164513] Re: update-grub failes when "default" is set to "saved" instead of numeric value
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 193439 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/193439 There is information here which is not present in #19439: - #19439 is about setting 'default' in /boot/grub/default; in my case the value is configured in /boot/grub/menu.1st (the "normal" way to configure grub), and it is set to 'saved' (a value which actually means something). Also, #19439 is newer than this bug by three months. OTOH, the underlying cause is indeed the same: 'update-grub' is wrongly assuming that the default must be numeric). -- update-grub failes when "default" is set to "saved" instead of numeric value https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164513 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 164513] Re: update-grub failes when "default" is set to "saved" instead of numeric value
I believe that the culprit here is the final stanza of /usr/sbin/update-grub, which tries to compute the new default number by performing arithmetic on the old one: if you have entered 'saved' as your default, the arithmetic fails. I think it needs to be wrapped in a test for numeric, e.g.: if test -n "$defaultEntryNumber"; then In the meanwhile, a workaround would appear to be setting 'updatedefaultentry' to 'false', which should sidestep the whole issue. -- update-grub failes when "default" is set to "saved" instead of numeric value https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/164513 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 177244] gvimrc columns not respected (Metacity stretching window)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vim-gtk In my .gvimrc, I set the desired number of colums for my gvim: set co=80 but when I start gvim, something (the window manager?) resizes the window after .gvimrc is sourced. I can verify this via: :verbose set co? which shows: columns=98 Last set from ~/.gvimrc ** Affects: vim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gvimrc columns not respected (Metacity stretching window) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/177244 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 83229] Re: could not close window with ctrl-W until I clicked on the background
According to: http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do;jsessionid=e14182282910a2cf8ebead9e7f36?bug_id=6542261 this behavior is by design in FF 2.0+ if the "always show tabs" option is set on. Apparently there is some debate over the desirability, but it is intentional. The workaround (disabling that option) is far less obnoxious. -- could not close window with ctrl-W until I clicked on the background https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/83229 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
