[Bug 513644] Re: Does not log fsck invocations in /var/log/fsck/

2014-03-13 Thread Tristan Grimaux
This is a critical bug. One of those bugs you find when everything is in
danger, and about to be lost. As I gently type, I'm trying to find ways
to recover my server. I know there has to be a disk about to fail, I've
seen the strange behavior on boot and because I was there I know
something is wrong.

But there is no log about it.

If you are so insensitive to keep this bug as a wishlist, if you truly
don't care that not having a good log about a critical event on boot is
crushing our hearts, you will be hurting the sysadmin community.

And this is no good.

Because we know for sure this is easy to fix. A silly bug indeed.

[Bug 739293] Re: Network error in Weather

2011-11-17 Thread Tristan Grimaux
The weather map parsing has an error. It finds the map correctly but
when it has to find the src it fails as its criteria looks for the wrong
case, and without proper quotes. The weather.com site changed it?

ok

find somehing similar to

mapExp = IMG NAME=mapImg SRC=([^\]+) WIDTH=([0-9]+)
HEIGHT=([0-9]+) BORDER

and change it to

mapExp = img name=mapImg src=([^\]+) width=([0-9]+)
height=([0-9]+) border

Mine is on line 622

Also, on line 563 or 606 (depends on the version) update the key if it's
failing

The original is
__ws_key = prod=xoappar=1048871467key=12daac2f3a67cb39link=xoap

and you can change it to
__ws_key = prod=xoappar=1287722164key=e11ec82daa20d876

as posted on
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=11435261postcount=59

As a side note: to report a parsing problem as a network connection
error is really bizarre|awkward|stupid|disrupting and it gets worse as
you are parsing someone else page, prone to be changed without notice.

[Bug 887132] [NEW] The default chat template fills the conversation with times and dates

2011-11-07 Thread Tristan Grimaux
Public bug reported:

The details of date, time and user in the chat conversation should be
displayed on a different font --or grayed--. Its difficult to read the

do it.

[Bug 164595] Re: [gutsy] can't unmount filesystem mounted from a nfs version 2 server

2009-10-23 Thread Tristan Grimaux
The problem is not a bug but a problem with the upgrade from an old
version. When version 3 was in BETA this line was added to /etc/default
/nfs-kernel-server

rpcmountdopts=--no-nfs-version 3

If you comment this line, the problem is solved. If you want to mark
this bug as SOLVED, the installer should *at least* warn the user about
this line.

[Bug 77426] Re: dvd is not opened message when copying DVD

2008-12-26 Thread Tristan Grimaux
Please Luka, don't close it as invalid. There is an error here, it
happens to everyone who starts using k9copy for the first time: the
program says DVD is not opened and we start to wander what happens.
Another way is to disable the controls that report the error until the
dvd is opened. In fact, it really means that k9copy needs and initial
reading of the dvd.

[Bug 77426] Re: dvd is not opened message when copying DVD

2008-02-06 Thread Tristan Grimaux
Same as Tyler, Google brought me here. The real bug is that the error
message is wrong. It is a bug and it should be corrected. It should say:
open the disk first. When you are trying to rip a copyrighted material,
the first thought is: where is the dvdlib?

[Bug 93821] Re: 7.04: kopete Jabber account requires email address but its not used

2007-07-03 Thread Tristan Grimaux
To properly configure your OpenFire Account account you have to include
the server name listed under server settings. So if your server is
foo.myfoodomain.com and your user is nikhilk, your user should be
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

The kopete client works fine with OpenFire.

[Bug 93821] Re: 7.04: kopete Jabber account requires email address but its not used

2007-07-03 Thread Tristan Grimaux
I should add that [EMAIL PROTECTED] is not an email address, even when an
email address follows that format, it is widely used for many other
things. In XMPP (Jabber) there is always a username and a server or
domain name. Kopete uses the format on one line and may lead to
confusion.
