[Bug 272247] Re: System freezes during boot, unless I hold a key down

2008-12-03 Thread Trond Thorbjørnsen
No, I'm sorry - I was a bit short here.

The main issue is a problem for me (see further up the thread).

I was addressing Morten Minke's problem:
"I do not want to mix bugs here, but I think I have an issue which might be
related to this one because of the powerplug in/out trick which also makes the
boot continue. Apparently something is triggered by this action."

The main issue has two different workarounds for me:

1. Attach the power cord during boot
2. Add nolapic in kernel options

(acpi=noirq didn't work last time I tried)

[Bug 136598] Re: xserver-xgl on gutsy doesn't work

2007-09-08 Thread Trond Thorbjørnsen
Xgl works when changing 00xserver-xgl_start-server to 15xserver-
xgl_start-server, but when trying:

$ fgl_glxgears
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":1.0".
Error: couldn't get fbconfig

But the following gives:

$ fglrxinfo
display: :0.0  screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6473 (8.37.6)

and Beryl works...

I've read the last post, but I can't find the XGL_BLACKLIST, so I
haven't tried that yet.

I haven't managed to use the "original" odbc-connector successfully.
After innstalling the rpm-package, what do I have to do so that oobase
can find the "new" libmyodbc.so?

This bug also appears on my Acer:

sudo lspci | grep -i ethern

to different networks isn't the best way to get a stable network connection...:)

[Bug 272247] Re: System freezes during boot, unless I hold a key down

2008-12-03 Thread Trond Thorbjørnsen
No, I'm sorry - I was a bit short here.

The main issue is a problem for me (see further up the thread).

I was addressing Morten Minke's problem:
"I do not want to mix bugs here, but I think I have an issue which might be
related to this one because of the powerplug in/out trick which also makes the
boot continue. Apparently something is triggered by this action."

The main issue has two different workarounds for me:

1. Attach the power cord during boot
2. Add nolapic in kernel options

(acpi=noirq didn't work last time I tried)

[Bug 136598] Re: xserver-xgl on gutsy doesn't work

2007-09-08 Thread Trond Thorbjørnsen
Xgl works when changing 00xserver-xgl_start-server to 15xserver-

$ fgl_glxgears
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":1.0".
Error: couldn't get fbconfig

But the following gives:

$ fglrxinfo
display: :0.0  screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6473 (8.37.6)

and Beryl works...

I've read the last post, but I can't find the XGL_BLACKLIST, so I
haven't tried that yet.

[Bug 123633] Re: CD/DVD-rw will not work in Gutsy - SATA/acpi-problem? - SOLVED

2007-07-02 Thread Trond Thorbjørnsen

sudo update-initramfs -u -k 2.6.22-7-generic

I have updated to Gutsy from Feisty, the problem has probably turned up
then...

Option  "MetaModes" "1280x800"

Neighter
$ sudo aticonfig --initial -f
or the originial xorg.conf works.

[Bug 136598] Re: xserver-xgl on gutsy doesn't work

2007-09-08 Thread Trond Thorbjørnsen
Xgl works when changing 00xserver-xgl_start-server to 15xserver-
xgl_start-server, but when trying:

$ fgl_glxgears
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":1.0".
Error: couldn't get fbconfig

But the following gives:

$ fglrxinfo
display: :0.0  screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6473 (8.37.6)

and Beryl works...

I've read the last post, but I can't find the XGL_BLACKLIST, so I
haven't tried that yet.

The solution Danielhollocher mentioned also worked for me.

Actually, ubuntu-desktop itself wasn't installed. So some necessary

That is a problem with apt-get dist-upgrade, but I think the Update-

[Bug 219206] Re: Crash on odbc traffic with MySQL server

2008-05-14 Thread Trond Thorbjørnsen
I confirm this too.

I haven't managed to use the "original" odbc-connector successfully.
After innstalling the rpm-package, what do I have to do so that oobase
can find the "new" libmyodbc.so?

[Bug 282203] Re: Wacom tablet hotplug is no longer enabled by default

2008-10-19 Thread Trond Thorbjørnsen
I agree with Alexia - the hotplug out of the box should be prioritized.

Actually - my Wacom doesn't work at all with my old Hardy setup (where
it works fine):

Oct 19 11:03:26 fanon kernel: [ 2540.344690] usbcore: registered new interface d
river wacom
Oct 19 11:03:26 fanon kernel: [ 2540.348374] wacom: v1.49:USB Wacom Graphire
and Wacom Intuos tablet driver

Actually, it works as in Hardy, I just forgot to comment out some lines
in xorg.conf.

My X works fine, so the boot problem are probably not related to that
issue.

Here are my logs.
