I have this problem with 13.04 on a Lenovo y410p (4th gen Intel + nvidia gpu). Public bug reported: In the past I have seen similar issues with this laptop when not turning off the option to disable touchpad while typing, however with 12.04 this still occurs even when that option is turned off. Essentially what happens is the mouse (touchpad) will be working fine and then suddenly just stop responding. Keyboard input still responds correctly. Logging in/out does not fix the issue, a full restart seems to be required. Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide to get this fixed. [Bug 656593] [NEW] Nautilus does not let you change file ownership
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus When looking at a file's permissions in Nautilus (non-root) there is no way to change the file ownership. While I understand the reasoning for this I think the program would be well served with the addition of that ability and a prompt to enter root mode to perform the action. Currently the only way to set the file owner is to either use the terminal, or to launch Nautilus as root. I think that Nautilus should offer full functionality to the regular user and simply prompt for root credentials when the action requires it (sort of a built in sudo). Is this something we can add? [Bug 654322] [NEW] Power settings do not switch when A/C plugged back in
Public bug reported: If you set your power settings such that they act differently when plugged in vs when on battery the system fails to switch back and forth when A/C power is removed and then resumed. 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu. As far as I can tell this affects all versions of Ubuntu. 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic. Not sure what package this bug would belong to 3) What you expected to happen I expected the power settings to revert back to the A/C settings when A/C power is restored. 4) What happened instead They stayed locked in the "on battery" configuration. How to test: Create a power profile such that when on A/C there are no power savings applied (no turning off the display, etc.). Then create an on-battery power profile such that the machine is put in standby after a small idle time. Remove the power briefly (a couple of seconds should more than do) and restore power. Leave the computer idle for the time you set in the on-battery power profile. Watch as the machine goes to standby even though you are now on A/C (even though it shouldn't.) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Power settings do not switch when A/C plugged back in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/654322 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 502233] [NEW] Firefox installer fails to resize
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kubuntu-firefox-installer In Kubuntu 9.10: Firefox installer does not resize itself after "Show Details" is clicked and then "Hide Details" is clicked. The window remains sized to show the full details, even though it is not displaying them. I expected this to return to it's original size when Hide Details was clicked. ** Affects: kubuntu-firefox-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Firefox installer fails to resize https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/502233 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
