[Bug 1611108] [NEW] snap install without sudo asks to login to snap store

2016-08-08 Thread Ursula Junque
Public bug reported:

snapd 2.11+0.16.04, xenial.

While trying to install a snap package I just built, it gives me an error
message:
$ snap install hello-debug_2.10_i*.snap
error: access denied (snap login --help)

Running the same command with sudo works fine.
Logging in and trying without sudo also works fine, but it's odd. Asked in
#snappy freenode channel if there was a reason for this, or docs, and answer
was no.

Ursinha: I think someone confused a permission problem with
installing with a non-authorized problem with downloading
restricted/paid snaps. Same exception, different uses. Maybe.

[Bug 1508110] Re: Users tab doesn't work as expected

2016-01-18 Thread Ursula Junque
I've tested the fix in wily, vivid, trusty and precise; It worked right
away. No resyncs, and adding users in the computer and via landscape UI
work as it should.

[Bug 1508110] Re: Users tab doesn't work as expected

2016-01-07 Thread Ursula Junque
I've been testing this for a while now and the behavior doesn't look
deterministic, of ~10 machines I've tested I could see at least 3
behaving oddly, with several "resync" activities and sometimes the users
list showing, disappearing and then showing again. I'll wait for the
"proper" fix Free said was possible, and then I'll resume the testing. I
think we should wait for that to trigger the SRU process with the proper
fix.

[Bug 1508110] Re: Users tab doesn't work as expected

2015-12-15 Thread Ursula Junque
TL;DR Users' list is populated 1h after registration, when plugin syncs
the users data. Is this the expected behavior?

I've tested this fix today, steps I took:
1) In an Ubuntu Trusty fresh install, added landscape/trunk PPA. (juju deploy
ubuntu, local provider, host wily)
2) Updated packages (apt-get upgrade). I ended up with:
 # dpkg-query -W landscape-client
 landscape-client 15.06+bzr824-0ubuntu0~ubuntu14.04.1
3) Enabled client debug and configured client to register machine in
landscape.c.c (enable scripts, ALL, and my personal landscape account, ursinha).

Once confirmed the registration, T+2 minutes I could see the machine
info in landscape.c.c, processes and packages, but users tab remained
empty. T+60 minutes the users' list was synchronized and then users
showed up in the UI. I've manually tweaked the interval and could see it
works, but users have to wait for that 1h. If this is the expected
behavior I can confirm it fixes the problem.

[Bug 1293022] [NEW] qtcreator-plugin-cmake install breaks due to qt-creator package conflict

2014-03-15 Thread Ursula Junque
Public bug reported:

apt-get upgrade broke on my trusty install due to files conflicting between
packages.
I had installed qtcreator 2.8.1-0ubuntu1, and when trying to apt-get upgrade
the system I spotted the following error, that broke it:

Unpacking qtcreator-plugin-cmake:i386 (3.0.1-0ubuntu5) ...
dpkg: error processing archive
/var/cache/apt/archives/qtcreator-plugin-cmake_3.0.1-0ubuntu5_i386.deb
(--unpack):
 trying to overwrite
'/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/qtcreator/plugins/QtProject/CMakeProjectManager.pluginspec',
which is also in package qtcreator 2.8.1-0ubuntu1

It seems the package was split in two and the new package (qtcreator-
plugin-cmake) is missing a Conflicts.

[Bug 1247401] Re: Date/Time missing from indicators and welcome screen

2013-12-02 Thread Ursula Junque
Removing the duplicate as it seems the original issue (bug 1239710) is
fixed. Using this bug to track new occurrences in trusty.

I just got this, using r34 (trusty).

[11:02:34] Ursinha, check is the service is running and maybe the
corresponding upstart log
 [11:05:19] seb128, indicator-datetime-service isn't running
[11:06:19] Ursinha, is there anything useful in the upstart log?
[11:07:19] seb128, the only mention I could find in upstart logs is
in dbus.log, the last message says: Failed to activate service
'com.canonical.indicator.datetime': timed out
[11:07:53] Ursinha, is that current trusty? the indicators should be
managed by upstart with the changes ted did
[11:08:14] e.g they should have their own log
 [11:08:18] seb128, yes, trusty, r34
[11:09:45] Ursinha, well, in any case it seems like the service had an
issue and timeouted, not a lot you can get now, if it happens again it would be
useful to get a gdb stacktrace before the timeout

[Bug 1239265] Re: Opening any settings page resets displays

2013-10-23 Thread Ursula Junque
Hi Seb, my video driver is intel (xserver-xorg-video-intel), and this
problem might be related to bug 1239186. I'm not sure though.

The weird thing is that the displays reset whenever I access any of the
ubuntu settings, so maybe it's a bug in my driver combined with some odd
behavior in gnome settings. Here are the contents of gnome-settings-
daemon.log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/6290019/ .

Please, let me know if there's anything I could do to test it.

Thanks!

[Bug 1239265] Re: Opening any settings page resets displays

2013-10-12 Thread Ursula Junque
** Description changed:

Most times when I open, for example, sound settings (from the indicator
menu or from the dash), my display configuration resets and all my
monitors are turned off, leaving only the laptop screen on, as if I went
to display settings and choose to turn off both monitors. If I click in
"Detect Displays", the previous configuration is restored automatically.

Also, every time I spend enough time away from the computer and the
displays turn off, when I come back only the laptop display is on. I
have to open display settings and it automatically sets back to what it
was before, I don't even need to click on "Detect Displays" in this
- case. So it seems Ubuntu is having a hard time to remember my display
- settings, and it seems to load this wrong default every time any
- settings are called, causing the displays to turn off.
+ case.
+
+ Note 1: When I'm normally using the computer and I open the settings and
+ get this error, if I close it and open another settings in the next 10
+ minutes or so the problem doesn't happen.
+
+ Note 2: This problem doesn't happen if I merely lock the screen. It
+ needs to become idle and the displays to turn off (it seems).
+
+
+ So it seems Ubuntu is having a hard time to remember my display settings, and
it seems to load this wrong default every time any settings are called, causing
the displays to turn off.

I have a X220 in a minidock, with two monitors plugged in the DVI ports. The
configuration resets most times I open any settings, and this happens whether
I'm with both monitors on and laptop display off, or only one monitor and the
laptop display both on.

[Bug 1223592] Re: No sound at all because output options were stuck in (maybe) previous plugged device

2013-09-11 Thread Ursula Junque
How high temperature would cause the sound entry to be wrong in Sound
Settings? I have the same setup here for a while, and it's been like
that for a while too (I usually set the fan to disengaged so it won't
overheat). Do you have a reason to say that the problem is high
temperature apart from the log entries?

[Bug 1223592] [NEW] No sound at all because output options were stuck in (maybe) previous plugged device

2013-09-10 Thread Ursula Junque
Public bug reported:

I'm not sure this is a pulseaudio problem or a Ubuntu System Settings
one.

Since yesterday I noticed there was no sound at all, and restarting
pulseaudio and the computer didn't do the trick. I reported this problem
to a friend and he suggested to look closely at the output options in
the Sound Settings, and although there was no headset or headphone
plugged in and the "Built-in Audio" was the only device displayed, the
"Mode" options in "Settings for Speakers" were HDMI ones, not the Analog
that should be there for my built-in device. After seeing that, I only
clicked the combobox and it immediately reloaded its options with the
Analog ones, the sound started working again in the moment that
happened.

I'm not sure how to trigger that behaviour. At the moment my notebook is
in a minidock, with two monitors connected to it via DVI. I used my
computer connected to a TV a few days ago, then using an HDMI cable, and
that was about all the contact my machine had to HDMI. I haven't tested
sound after that, only noticed yesterday it wasn't working so probably
never worked since then.

[Bug 1123372] Re: gnome-tweak-tool crashed with SystemError in _on_changed(): error return without exception set

2013-02-19 Thread Ursula Junque
I don't know the side effects of making it return 0, so after a bit of
poking in the code I realized it's crashing inside the set_properties
method, which is failing and not setting a proper exception.
set_property, on the other hand, that does the same but one property at
a time, works fine. What I did was to replace one call of set_properties
for three calls of set_property, like this:

Of course it needs a better investigation for a proper fix, preferentially by
someone that understands the inner workings of GObject, but it kinda works with
this workaround.

reported bug 1061824 to track that issue. The crash related in this bug
isn't happening here anymore.

[Bug 1060500] Re: No more sound: ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) doesn't show in the Sound Settings with kernel 3.5.0-16

2012-10-02 Thread Ursula Junque
** Description changed:

- No more sound: ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) doesn't show in the Sound

+ This is potentially a regression.
+
+ I've downloaded and installed Ubuntu Quantal Beta 2 on my Acer Aspire

+ 00:14.2 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SBx00 Azalia
(Intel HDA) (rev 40)
+
+ But ALSA doesn't recognize them in 3.5.0-16, as you can see here:

[Bug 1059737] [NEW] [sandybridge-m-gt2+] False GPU lockup IPEHR: 0x0b160001 IPEHR: 0x0b140001

2012-10-01 Thread Ursula Junque
Public bug reported:

I don't know what trigger this bug, and I have no lockups on screen or
anything. The only obvious thing that happens is apport asking me if I
want to report a bug. Once this bug happens, it happens other 10 times
in the time of a minute (as in, apport notices a crash and tries to
report the bug other 10 times).

[Bug 966744] Re: [i965] Resume from suspend leaves me with black screen or a screen of the desktop before it suspended. Compiz hung in intel_update_renderbuffers() from intel_prepare_render() from brw

2012-09-28 Thread Ursula Junque
Hi Timo,

I've installed the packages in your PPA and when I rebooted I ran into
bug 1058125 (private -- contains sensitive information --, let me know
if you can't see it). I'm not sure it's related, but as it was the first
issue apport caught after installing your package and rebooting, I
thought it might be worth looking.

I haven't checked yet if it fixes this very bug.

Thanks!

[Bug 955955] Re: Keyboard shortcuts get reset at every login

2012-09-26 Thread Ursula Junque
Hi,

This is happening but not at every login: I'm not yet able to trigger
the problem consistently, but last time it happened I restarted lightdm
to make unity work again and when I logged in the shortcuts were gone.
This is happening at least twice a week since I upgraded from Precise to
Quantal, and I can confirm the same problem happens in another different
machine, also recently upgraded to Quantal. I have defined a shortcut
to open xterm (another than the Open Terminal one), and it persists, but
all the others I customized, such as moving between workspaces or toggle
maximization state are gone.

Please, let me know if I can provide any other information.

Cheers,

Yes, sorry, I mean it now runs fine, I got no more of that error after
deleting the image and creating it again.

I'm not sure if I got the question, I can say I installed the packages
from Ubuntu repository and just upgraded the machine to quantal.

[Bug 799997] Re: error happen when using virsh to start a vm " internal error cannot generate AppArmor profile"

Hi Serge,

I tried to create a new Windows VM yesterday and today, and the error is
the same, BUT when trying to create an Ubuntu VM, it worked!

What's the issue then? Should the package, when purged, have deleted that file?

Hi Bilal,

Since I upgraded to quantal this specific crash happened to me a couple
of times. I couldn't consistently reproduce it, but I can tell this last
time I clicked in the notification icon and in the notification specific
to the person that sent me the message. It opened the chat window, that
became grey and then crashed. Please, let me know if I can provide more
details.

Thanks!
