Confirming the bug on Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop. I'm experiencing the same issue with my Transcend 320GB StoreJet 25M. It is connected with one USB2.0 cable and has no additional power supply. I've attached the requested files, that were prepared after a clean boot, and also a part of the messages log with the first occurrence of the error as it is a bit different. Both times I was copying 484 files with a total size of 19Gb to the drive. Min file size was 992Kb and max file size was 2Gb. During the original copying I got the error thee times, and during the test only once. The error occurred when it was copying 34280 byte file. The file was created on the USD drive, but was empty. And the drive made that click sound, like when the cable is unplagued. None of the filenames had any non-latin characters. All files contain a number in the name, so it was possible to track them. So file 877 was copied properly; file 878 was created, but was empty; file 879 was NOT created at all; all other files beginning with 880 were correct. The error occurred at about 10% of copying. First I didn't do any read from the drive, then I opened a video file on the USB drive while still copying. The video played as usual with no errors. Also after the third error during the original copying the system became very slow. That didn't happen the second time.
