[Bug 933723] Re: bind9 registering itself with resolvconf but not set up to forward queries
I'm hoping to understand the status of this a bit better. I am still having issues with my Ubuntu desktop. This seems to have occurred after an upgrade and I've been struggling to find a solution. I am running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS and my system is up-to-date. Here is what my resolv.conf originally looked like. When it looked like this, I was unable to connect to most web sites. # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8) # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN nameserver 127.0.0.1 search phub.net.cable.rogers.com I do not believe bind9 is installed as /etc/default/bind9 does not exist. One of the workarounds on this thread suggested deleting /etc/resolv.conf and replacing it with /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/original. After copying /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/original to /etc/resolv.conf, /etc/resolv.conf now looks like: # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8) # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN domain phub.net.cable.rogers.com search phub.net.cable.rogers.com nameserver 192.168.0.1 After applying the above workaround, the problem persists. Any ideas on how to resolve this? It might also be worth mentioning that when I connect to my work VPN, I am able to resolve all websites without issue, though /etc/resolv.conf doesn't look any different. I am not having any issues on any the other devices on my network, both wired and wireless (Xbox, Android phones, Ubuntu laptop running 11.04 and a MacBook) Also, could I get some clarification on whether this problem is specific to upgrades only? i.e. If I were to re-install Ubuntu, should I still expect to see this problem? I would appreciate any help and look forward to hearing back on this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/933723 Title: bind9 registering itself with resolvconf but not set up to forward queries To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/933723/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 482430] Re: Ubuntu One will not sync any files
Deleting syncdaemon.conf did the trick! Thank you so much! With that bug out of the way, I have to say, this is a GREAT feature! Should I add a note to the bug noting the workaround? Or is this a pretty well known workaround by now? Fortunately, I think there is a workaround for this problem as I believe it's related to bug 455544 which occurs when the bandwidth preferences are set to the defaults. If you delete ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon..conf and restart the Ubuntu One client, you should be able to connect. If that does not work, can you let me know if you're using NetworkManager to connect to the network? If you are not, you're also being affected by bug 357395 which we hope to have a fix released in our test PPA very soon and likely in an Ubuntu update not long after that. [Bug 433114] [NEW] Most flash video sites not working
Public bug reported: Release: Ubuntu 9.04 Package: Firefox 3.0.14+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.9.04.1 Epiphany 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 flashplugin-nonfree 10.0.32.18ubuntu0.9.04.1 When visiting flash video sites, you expect a video to be played. Instead, the space where the video should be shows button controls and various messages, flashing and moving around. Some of the messages include "This is the video title" and "Your video will start in 0 seconds". Also, my system's CPU usage spikes and the computer will be lag until I can close the browser window. It should be noted that this does not occur with all flash video websites, just most of them. For example, all videos on youtube work fine. It should also be noted that this problem doesn't occur on my Windows XP VM. This problem occurs with both firefox and epiphany browsers. The problem first appeared when I upgraded from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04. Please let me know if you need any more information. Any help would be appreciated. ** Affects: adobe-flashplugin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: firefox flash video -- Most flash video sites not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/433114 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
