[Bug 1249765] Re: 8086:4222 [Acer Aspire 5670] iwl3945 resets wireless connection frequently
hi Christopher, I've tried following the wiki instructions for using ndiswrapper , from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper but I'm not sure if I'm loading the driver correctly. when i run sudo depmod -a sudo modprobe ndiswrapper I dont seem to have the driver working. I'm not sure if the driver even loads. so I tried rebooting. 1) With the latest driver from Acer website for my laptop, the system does not reboot into Ubuntu if the driver is loaded. i have to boot into a different kernel , remove the driver and only then can i boot ubuntu into that particular kernel. 2) The wireless connection works without problems when I boot into windows xp. So i figured that this would be the best driver to use. I tried finding the driver from the windows Xp boot, but I was only able to find the .sys file and .dll, but could not find the .inf file in the windows partition. any ideas as to where i could find the .inf file? 3) Now the system does not load iwl3945 module every time i boot up the laptop.i manually have to run $ sudo modprobe iwl3945 each time. I tried commenting out the blacklist of the iwl3945 module also removing the blacklist which i had to do during the ndiswrapper instructions, but that did not help. How do I make sure that the iwl3945 module loads automatically? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1249765 Title: 8086:4222 [Acer Aspire 5670] iwl3945 resets wireless connection frequently To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1249765/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1239251] Re: Navigation button colors are inconsistent
Not an issue with Humanity icon theme. Nautilus developers decided to use monochrome symbolic icons for the navigation, while other apps use the regular color icons. Both the icons are available for use. The Ubuntu project just needs to decide what the standard should be for apps and then apps just need to follow the project's standard. ** Changed in: humanity-icon-theme (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** No longer affects: humanity-icon-theme (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239251 Title: Navigation button colors are inconsistent To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1239251/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1231763] [NEW] Use png icon instead of the svg source
Public bug reported: We recently updated a new icon for apport in bug 1079639. But apparently the svg of icon is not being handled properly and artefacts are seen in: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Screen-Shot-2013-09-26-at-20.15.29.png The icon has several layers, which creates the white patches when not parsed properly by either the launcher or gtk. (should be displayed as https://launchpadlibrarian.net/148354254/apport-final.png ) The real error is not with apport, but fixing it here is easier than hunting for where the real issue might be. It is also a known issue that gtk can't render properly certain types of layers/styles in the svg. So using png files might be the only fix. [Bug 1079639] Re: Icons for error alerts are hokey
you're welcome, pitti! Adding the icon to upstream and dropping the one in ubuntu-mono Humanity package would be the right way to do it. - We are updating the apport branding. - This is a bit more work, but better in the long run. If we move to a different default theme at some point we would not have to revisit this issue. - When we did the ubuntu-mono/humanity red one it was just meant for the top panel. But we ended up dropping the apport icon from showing up in the top panel. So removing the icons from both ubuntu-mono and Humanity would be the best way to do it. Otherwise the humanity icon would be used even if ubuntu-mono icon is removed. - Even if users change themes this new icon would be used, otherwise the red one would keep being used for themes falling back to Humanity. Of course, icon themes can have their own replacement. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1079639 Title: Icons for error alerts are hokey To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apport/+bug/1079639/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1079639] Re: Icons for error alerts are hokey
I liked Sam's idea of a paper plane crashing. But rather wanted to focus on the reason the window is being displayed to the user - 'to send information'. So I used the paper plane as a metaphor to information being sent and used the blue color that we use for panel notifications - as in 'a notification about information ready to be sent'. I recall that we needed a new icon for software updater too, so we can just use the similar paper plane metaphor for updates arriving (not sure if we are still looking for a new updater icon) - as 'in new updates arriving'.. ;-) Right now, the shopping bag is the same color as the software center, but if necessary, we could change it to either green or blue(wouldnt blue be close to Windows?). ** Attachment added: Apport software-updater.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1079639/+attachment/3749333/+files/Apport%20%26%20software-updater.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1079639 Title: Icons for error alerts are hokey To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apport/+bug/1079639/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1098596] Re: Circular settings icons (Privacy, Landscape, Time Date...) vary in size and shadow
This is because we are seeing several different icon themes in that window. Details Universal Access - from Humanity. * Landscape Management - from Landscape client. * Privacy Time Date - from Gnome Icon theme While one could argue that all the icons could be created and included in Humanity, this is not likely to happen. With the prospects/rumours of a new icon-theme/design style for the default Ubuntu, Humanity development has not made progress and it is less likely for new icons to be created. [Bug 1081691] Re: Launcher - Update the icons used for the Software Centre, Nautilus, and Software Updater
Jeremy, We already do add color icons in ubuntu-mono for a few apps. Ex: Nautilus 'system-file-manager', 'user-desktop' . We do that so that these changes affect Ubuntu only and not other downstream distros which might use Humanity. I meant in James' branch several other files have been changed. [Bug 922232] Re: Volumes fail to attach without discovery using tgt
Do you have iscsi_ip_address set on the volume host? It needs to be an ip that the compute hosts can hit. When the volume is created this ip is stored for connection information in the database, so if you don't have it set, you will probably need to set it, restart nova-volume and recreate volumes before attaching. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nova in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/922232 Title: Volumes fail to attach without discovery using tgt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/922232/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 996233] Re: nova and python-novaclient disagree on volumes API URLs
it should be getting the url from keystone anyway, so I don't imagine that the nova url is a problem. Re: [Bug 996233] nova and python-novaclient disagree on volumes API URLs
Ah, deprecated auth is most likely the problem. I suspect deprecated auth doesn't support multiple endpoints. It really is only still there to allow you to transition to keystone. [Bug 977765] Re: Image registration (ec2) is broken using deprecated auth
Here was the commit: a6ac8af69351cb39aa07f53e3327ff29b90383bc We only left deprecated auth in essex for the purpose of migration, so running a production system of deprecatd auth is definitely not supported.
