[Bug 104990] Re: [need-packaging] Subclipse
Few comments from the top of my head: * Using perl script to unpack a zip and copy it to proper place is IMO overkill, it can be done inside rules file. * EPL is a "good" license and we don't need to accept it explicitly. Otherwise the same dialog would need to appear for Eclipse itself. * Depends must contain either one of the Java SVN clients that subclipse uses (libsvn-javahl, svnkit). * The schema for naming the Eclipse plugin packages is eclipse- like eclipse-cdt, eclipse-pydev. * Must go to multiverse since it is an all-binary package. * Binary deb package contains javahl.win32.jar, which is completely useless on Ubuntu. * It might be a good idea to discus this kind of package at #debian- java, #ubuntu-java or debian-java mailing-list. The overall effort is to make Ubuntu and Debian Java as close as possible. * There is (currently broken) source package for subclipse at http ://debian-eclipse.wfrag.org/tracpy/ . You might want to ask its author for current status. Anyway, Stephane, thank you for your work, I would love to see svn support (either subclipse or subversive) for Eclipse in Ubuntu. -- [need-packaging] Subclipse https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Patrice, GCJ included in Gutsy already handles 1.5 Java so this is no longer a problem. I am going to package the latest pydev as soon as I find enough time for it. What Lionel meant is to file a UVF bug (use this one), so that when we have the package ready we can follow the UVF process and put it in Gutsy. [Bug 91496] Switching tab when reconnected
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gaim Using the latest Feisty, gaim 1:2.0.0+beta6-1ubuntu1. I use several accounts in gaim, including irc and leave the conversations open. irc tends to reconnect much slower than jabber, when my laptop is suspended or gets disconnected otherwise. When I start typing a new message in a jabber tab, which is already reconnected, when an IRC tab gets reconnected gaim switches to it. This behavior was already resolved in connection to other programs (gnome-terminal) by letting the window unfocused and blinking the window list item. However, inside gaim it stays the same. ** Affects: gaim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Switching tab when reconnected https://launchpad.net/bugs/91496 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 84602] Re: Eclipse + pydev
It is unlikely that Sun Java will be the direct dependency for Eclipse. Currently it depends on java2-runtime, which is provided by Sun Java, GCJ and maybe more. GCJ just happens to be installed per default, because it has less strict licensing (GCJ is in main, while Sun is in multiverse). Downloading software using Eclipse update is always an option, however this is not what we wanted. There should be working eclipse-pydev package. If you would like, please take a look at the package mentioned above, if that fixes the problems. Any comments on that are appreciated. Re: [Bug 84602] Re: Eclipse + pydev
Unfortunately, I am not able to track the problem right now. There is a new version of Pydev, which does not require that horrible 1.4 java backport patch. So this could probably help. However, I am not sure, if it will make it to Feisty. If you would like just to test the package, it is located at http://buntudot.org/people/~vil/ . Re: [Bug 84602] Re: Eclipse + pydev
Unfortunately, I cannot see anything wrong right now. You can try using Sun Java to run Eclipse, if that helps. This is not really a solution, but can help you in this particular case. If the problem persists, there might be problem with the python scripts used by pydev to do the actual autocompletion. Some debugging info can be obtained by running Eclipse from the command line and also in the Eclipse log (Help > About Eclipse SDK > Configuration Details > View Error Log). If you find any info that may help solving the issue, please paste it here. [Bug 49860] Does not suspend right after resume
Public bug reported: Hello, I am using the latest Ubuntu Dapper. If I suspend my laptop by closing the lid and resume it with reopening the lid I get the lock-screen dialog. Now, if I try to suspend it again without unlocking, it fails. Note that if I do not suspend and resume but instead lock my laptop manually, it is suspended correctly.
