[Bug 55966] ttf-bpg-georgian-fonts.conf problem.

2006-08-10 Thread Vladimer Sichinava
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ttf-bpg-georgian-fonts

Once installed ttf-bpg-georgian-fonts_0.3_all.deb package from
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/x11/ttf-bpg-georgian-fonts I´ve noticed
that /etc/fonts/conf.d/ttf-bpg-georgian-fonts.conf
has no effects, to ensure myself I´ve copied
/etc/fonts/conf.d/ttf-bpg-georgian-fonts.conf in my home folder and renamed it
to .fonts.conf after that I´ve restarted X server and everything works like a
charm(fonts are used in a right way).

Re-Hello,

I've re-donwloaded
https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/gutsy/+source/libwnck/+pots/libwnck/ka/+translate
again libwnck .po file for testing.

but the string "Always On _Top" is commented in this way:

#~ msgid "Always On _Top"
#~ msgstr "ყოველთვის წინა _პლანზე"

so it dosen't work.
only way for make that working is to uncomment that 2 lines.

The same thing when I downloaded German translation:

#~ msgid "Always On _Top"
#~ msgstr "Immer im V_ordergrund"

Hello once again,

There is still the same error even with Feisty Fawns 7.04

U+10E6 still contains wrong letter:

it's Serif family letter.

I've attached the right FreeSerif file, please consider this file.

[Bug 45898] Re: 2 Georgian letters are confused. You can Notice that from the screenshot.

2007-06-14 Thread Vladimer Sichinava
The strange thing is that I've checked current ttf-freefont (20060501cvs-10)
ttf-freefont-20060501cvs/sfd/FreeSerif.sfd and Georgian letters are ok...
but after package purge and reinstall there are still GHAN (U+10E6) letter
errors...

I don't know howto explain this ... maybe somewhere in Ubuntu wrong
FreeSerif.sfd
is copied ?

[Bug 94177] No Georgian letters apear in Console Mode.

2007-08-24 Thread Vladimer Sichinava
Problem affects (Feisty,Gutsy):

Problem 1: Georgian doesn't appear in terminal mode(after, alternate or
desktop installation):

On my laptop Ubuntu gutsy (development branch)

- I've created 3 directories (in /home/alinux/Desktop/) using Georgian letters:
the directories are:
"ახალი დასტა"
"ახალი დასტა 1"
"ახალი დასტა 2"

ახალი დასტა = means a "New Directory"

In gnome-terminal (that uses monospaced Georgian ttf font)
appears:
http://gnome.inet.ge/alinux/gnome-terminal.png <--- It's OK.
--

Then pressed Ctrl + Alt + F1 and passed in terminal mode:

"[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Desktop$ ls" output:

http://gnome.inet.ge/alinux/terminal.jpg <---You can notice rhombuses
instead letters.

2. When using ubuntu-alternate, no Georgian appears in terminal mode
debian-installer.

###Additional
Information###

gfxboot-theme-ubuntu also uses Georgian unifont fonts... and it works
great since Dapper

Screenshot:
http://gnome.inet.ge/alinux/ubuntu_screens/desktop/02_menu_choose.png <-- Nice
Georgian letters provided by Gia Shervashidze

Even if there is a imperfection with letter "წ" but everything could be
corrected
with
http://unifont.org/fontguide/downloads/fonts/New_Georgian_BDF_Fonts.tar.gz
(fixed version).
this pack contains 14 and 16 pixel size Georgian BDF console fonts.

this font is suitable for gfxboot-theme-ubuntu, terminal and debian-
installer.

2007-08-08 Thread Vladimer Sichinava
ttf-bpg-georgian-fonts contain some good Delta hinted fonts like
BPG_Courier.ttf, or Times New Roman like BPG_Elite.ttf fonts.(that are good for
typing)

I think that ttf-bpg-georgian-fonts may be putted in multiverse...(not main)
Imho, we can break ttf-bpg-georgian-fonts' dependency with language-support-ka
as Dejavu fonts are allredy present.

Thank you for attention!

[Bug 42922] Re: package should be split in daily use fonts and decoractive fonts

2007-06-06 Thread Vladimer Sichinava
*fonts in ttf-bgp-georgian-fonts*

1. BPG_Chveulebrivi.ttf
BPG_Chveulebrivi_Bold.ttf
2. BPG_Courier.ttf
BPG_Courier_Bold.ttf
3. BPG_Elite.ttf
BPG_Elite_Bold.ttf
4. BPG_Glaho.ttf
BPG_Glaho_Bold.ttf
5. BPG_Rioni.ttf
BPG_Rioni_Bold.ttf
BPG_Unicode_Standard.ttf

1. Chveulebrivi family - can be considered as decorative font.

2. BPG_Courier.ttf(+ respective _Bold.ttf) are monospaced fonts
and are mostly suitable for Graphical Terminal applications.
Ex: gnome-terminal

3. BPG_Elite.ttf(+ respective _Bold.ttf) are Times New Roman style
fonts, and they are useful for Word Processors,on paper typing
and web surfing.

4. BPG_Glaho.ttf(+ respective _Bold.ttf) both delta hinted,
perfect for Word Processors and GUI(GTK,QT)

5. BPG_Rioni.ttf(+ respective _Bold.ttf) are PERFECT
for GUI environment.
Ex:
GNOME GDM:
http://gnome.inet.ge/alinux/ubuntu_screens/desktop/04_georgian_gdm_menu.png
GNOME desktop
http://gnome.inet.ge/alinux/ubuntu_screens/desktop/07_menu_oo.org.png

Things that should be improved for Georgian side in Ubuntu+1:

1)Ubiquity Live Installer

Actually ubiquity uses ttf-freefont's Georgian glyps
that aren't sutable for GUI, and are opaque (pallid) + not delta hinted.
http://www.teutonici.com/Alinux/ubiquity-feisty-georgian.png

So my proposal is to use, BPG_Rioni.ttf or BPG_Glaho.ttf
from ttf-bgp-georgian-fonts instead of ttf-freefont.
Is that possible ?

2)debian-installer
Suggestion is to use:
http://www.unifont.org/fontguide/downloads/fonts/New_Georgian_BDF_Fonts.tar.gz

Today Dejavu project realised their 2.18 version of font package,
that finally supports Georgian too.

added Georgian Mkhedruli to Sans, Serif and Mono, ASumtavruli to Sans

here is direct link:

[Bug 318716] [NEW] Applet's Flag remains the same when Keyboard variant switched

2009-01-19 Thread Vladimer Sichinava
Public bug reported:

While using gswitchit-plugins, principally I switch between 2 keyboard
variants:

Italy - Italy (default) to Italy - Georgian, then indicator changes from "Ita"
to "Ita2".
In the same way there is no Flag change, when used gswitchit-plugins.
The flag remains Italian, for Ita and Ita2.
