[Bug 371897] Re: Occasional sound drops in Wine via PulseAudio

2011-08-11 Thread Vladimir Buell
Andrew: It's from generic natty repository. I've just added ("deb
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu natty main restricted", etc) to the
sources.list and upgraded all needed packages.

Selectively upgraded alsa/pulseaudio/linux kernet to versions from natty
(alsa 1.0.24.2, pulseaudio 0.9.22-24-g67d18, Linux 2.6.38-10-generic).
No differences. Still getting:

[Bug 396992] Re: libitext-java shouldn't depend on openjdk-6

2009-11-15 Thread Vladimir Buell
Your statement is probably correct, but in fact it doesn't work. Please
make sure that [libitext-java + sun-java6-*] bundle works (I mean you
have to have ONLY sun-java6-* in the system).

I have got sun-java6-* packages installed but when i try to install
libitext-java it marks gcj-4.4 with its dependencies to install.

$ sudo update-alternatives --config java
There is only one alternative in link group java:
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java
Nothing to configure.

[Bug 396999] [NEW] We need a java metapackage which depends on one of supported JVM implementations

2009-07-08 Thread Vladimir Buell
Public bug reported:

We need a java metapackage (java-jre, java-jdk) which depends on one of
supported JVM implementations (see examples below). I've seen packages
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libitext-java/+bug/396992 for
instance) which depend on specific java runtimes. This is quite ugly
because if user have to use some concrete java runtime there will be two
of them installed in the system: one from package dependencies and the
other - actually in use.

Moreover, right now many *-java packages doesn't have any java jvm
dependencies at all!

"java-jre" metapackage:
Depends: gcj-jre | sun-java6-jre | sun-java5-jre | openjdk-6-jre |
icedtea-6-jre-cacao

"java-jdk" metapackage:
Depends: gcj-jdk | sun-java6-jdk | sun-java5-jdk | openjdk-6-jdk

2009-01-19 Thread Vladimir Buell
Colin, result is the same.

I've noticed that files stage1/2 on my machine are too old

  /boot/grub/e2fs-stage1_5 8660 modified:30 jan 2008 12:00:38
  /boot/grub/stage2 110292 modified:30 jan 2008 12:00:40

I suppose that it's not ok and these these files should be changed in
grub...-ubuntu47. Right?

Another strange thing is that file /boot/grub/installed-version contains
"0.97-29ubuntu4".

I have the same problem today when I tried to migrate to ext4.

3. Via live-cd:

  mount -t ext4 /dev/sda1 /disk
  vi etc/fstab (ext3 -> ext4)
  vi boot/grub/menu.lst (add rootfstype=ext4)
4. Reboot
5. Observing a grub prompt
6. grub>setup (hd0) doesn't help

[Bug 39363] Re: Arrow keys do not open and close threads

2008-01-27 Thread Vladimir Buell
The same in gutsy. Maybe there is a way to change shortcuts for tree
collapsing and expanding to just left and right like it was in older
versions? Because it looks not so userfriendly as it might be...

[Bug 140730] Re: Can't expand/collapse folders with arrow keys

2007-09-21 Thread Vladimir Buell
I looked around other applications - this isn't nautilus specific issue.
Same behaviour exists in all treeview widgets (for example all trees in
Eclipse IDE). Maybe this is theme engine related issue. Generally, all
(not custom) trees can be expanded or collapsed only by +/- keys now.

Yeppee!!! heve a workaround for this.

I manually copied /lib/tls directory from .deb package (via MC) and apt-
get install -f:
