[Bug 1596751] Re: xfce-panel does not honor "primary display" setting

2020-05-25 Thread Willem de Groot
This doesn't work in 4.14.3-1 (Xubuntu 20.04). Setting a display as
primary does not move the panels & desktop icons to it, when the other
display is positioned left.

Public bug reported:

Hi and thanks for maintaining proftpd. We're seeing active exploitation
of CVE-2015-3306 on standard proftpd installs (Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04).
Is there a particular reason there has not been a release yet? CVE
details were released 2015-05-22.

[Bug 1234946] Re: "Size mismatch" caused by writing wrong data

2013-10-06 Thread Willem de Groot
Set debug to 10, it doesn't give more output. I guess I need a recompile
with debugging enabled.

apt-cacher-ng is pretty much unusable right now. Sometimes, the failure
rate is 100%. In that case, every cached deb files is stored with the
filename of the previously requested package.

Will switch over to squid-deb-proxy as it does pretty much the same
(http://www.garron.me/en/blog/ubuntu-deb-proxy-cache.html)

Cheers!

[Bug 1235943] [NEW] Thunar hangs on sftp mounts

2013-10-06 Thread Willem de Groot
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1231978 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1231978

Public bug reported:

Since upgrading from Ubu 13.04 to 13.10, I cannot open sftp:// locations
anymore with Thunar. For example, when I run "thunar sftp://root@dev-
willem1.c1/srv", the Thunar window appears, but right after displaying
the initial directory listing, it becomes (and stays) unresponsive.

It happens both with detailed view and icon view.
It happens with all my remote ssh locations.
I do not get output from the thunar process (is there a debug mode?)

I am using the latest gvfs-fuse (1.18.1-0ubuntu2)

See the attached strace log for (hopefully) more details.

For the moment, I have resorted to using sshfs and mounting remote
locations manually prior to starting Thunar.

Thanks!

[Bug 1234946] [NEW] "Size mismatch" caused by writing wrong data

2013-10-03 Thread Willem de Groot
Public bug reported:

5-15% of packages downloaded through apt-cacher-ng are corrupt with a
"Size mismatch" or "Hash Sum mismatch" error, reported by the client.
Apparently, the corrupted files on the cache host in /var/cache/apt-
cacher-ng are not corrupt but contain a different package than the
filename suggests. For example, python-apt_0.8.3ubuntu7.1_amd64.deb is
in fact xz-lzma_5.1.1alpha+20110809-3

Not sure how to debug this further.

I use apt-cacher-ng on various hosts on various isolated environments.
Some apt-cacher-ng installs yield a higher "size mismatch" frequency
than others, which might indicate a race condition. The ones with lower
error frequency have higher uplink speeds and higher cpu speeds.

[Bug 1199059] Re: A2DP audio sink devices failed to work with "bluetoothd : Unable to select SEP" in system log.

2013-09-08 Thread Willem de Groot
I am running the same packages as in comment #9 (however, under 13.10
alpha 2) but to no avail.

ii bluez 4.101-0ubuntu8b1 amd64

Apparently, downgrading to 12.10 versions fixes the problem, as has been

[Bug 1222145] [NEW] audio and bluetooth icons give empty drop down menu

2013-09-07 Thread Willem de Groot

various sub systems are (presumably) correctly installed, as the volume
keys on my keyboard work fine and the bluetooth manager works fine from

[Bug 392122] Re: "dim display when idle" only dims but doesn't restore the previous value when not idle anymore

2011-06-05 Thread Willem de Groot
Confirming this on Macbook Air 3,2 with Ubuntu 11.4 64bit. "Dim when
idle" turned on, will at random intervals dim but then only restores
brightness afterwards to about 50%.
