[Bug 991308] Re: Dnsmasq fails to resolve if any upstream nameserver is unreachable
I continue to have issues here. This is likely unrelated, but worth mentioning that I noticed VirtualBox VMs using the NAT virtual network are also affected by the issues in question (VMs using the Bridged virtual network adapter do not). I've noticed that the website www.portlandgeneral.com if you try and login using the quick login it always fails on lookup (in VirtualBox VMs with NAT too!) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991308 Title: Dnsmasq fails to resolve if any upstream nameserver is unreachable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dnsmasq/+bug/991308/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yes, it happens with dnsmasq by itself. However it appears that dnsmasq is caching the result, so when it sees a good one it will keep serving it. Added above tag because the root issue that caused me to find this was not present on 11.10: "In the following default configuration 1 out of 4 DNS queries fail. [Bug 545737] Re: Can not use HP PS3310 wireless network scanner
Screenshot of New Printer Dialog. Showing the detection of both 1320 and C4700. In this particular run, hp driver driver was not detected for C4700. ** Attachment added: "New Printer Dialog with multiple options per printer" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/42087111/NewPrinterDialog.png -- Can not use HP PS3310 wireless network scanner https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/545737 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 545737] Re: Can not use HP PS3310 wireless network scanner
Doing some removing and adding of the printers. It looks like New Printer wizard detects both DNS-SD and static IP, but not mDNS. The DNS- SD section seems to appear first, which may be why you get people selecting that. After using the wizard to add both of my HP printers. I used DNS-SD on my 1320 and IP based hp driver with the C4700. kas...@archon:~$ lpstat -v device for hp-LaserJet-1320-series: dnssd://hp%20LaserJet%201320%20series%20(8892E5)._printer._tcp.local/ device for HP-Photosmart-C4700-series: hp:/net/Photosmart_C4700_series?ip=192.168.1.111 kas...@archon:~$ With no mDNS with hp driver provided, using the hp driver selected one will break every time the printer gets a different IP via DHCP. -- Can not use HP PS3310 wireless network scanner https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/545737 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 511066] Re: ModemManager: HP ev2210 Sierra MC5725 not detected
Updated (to apply to latest git) patch submitted to linux-usb list on vger.kernel.org. Thread can be viewed at GMANE: http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.linux.usb.general/29519 -- ModemManager: HP ev2210 Sierra MC5725 not detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/511066 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 545737] Re: Can not use HP PS3310 wireless network scanner
Yep this fixed mine. I used "hp-probe -bnet -mmdns" to scan all my printers, and correct the auto detected CUPS URI with mDNS (to allow for DHCP changing IPs). The resulting URI was: hp:/net/Photosmart_C4700_series?zc=HPB96AF0 Possibly a bug should be opened with whatever does CUPS network printer detection, to allow the hp URI to be used by default. -- Can not use HP PS3310 wireless network scanner https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/545737 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 545737] Re: Can not use HP PS3310 wireless network scanner
I was able to detect my HP Photosmart C4700 using the command 'hp-probe -bnet -escan11' and use the resulting network URI with xsane. -- Can not use HP PS3310 wireless network scanner https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/545737 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
