Quick question, I have a problem of my keyboard/mouse freezes at the
logon screen, but my hardware is an AMD A6-3400M. It's a Toshiba
Satellite L775D-S7206. I can plug a usb mouse in and that mouse works
but keyboard/touchpad is still frozen. Do you think this kernel might
fix the issue with my hardware as well?

Will this make it into a new live ISO or just a new kernel release?

[Bug 825777] Re: Display will not turn on in Oneiric with Llano APUs

2011-12-13 Thread Wraith
Okay. after downloading the files I burnt them to a cd and I installed a
fresh copy of Ubuntu 11.10 AMD64 by using the Install option using
"nomodeset" under options as it gets a black screen otherwise. After
installing I booted into recovery and mounted the file system as
read/write and mounted the cd. I then copied them to my /home/cdrom as a
mount point for my cd drive (/dev/sr0) and cooties them and installed
them by executing "dpkg -i *.deb" and after that rebooted into the new
kernel (3.0.0.0-13) and SUCCESSFULLY booted into Unity.

Okay. Downloading and just to let you know I have a Toshiba L775D-S7206, but it
is having the same issues. My APU/GPU is the same as in post #6.
Will report back.

I'm willing to. I can get to the text login and update there. How do I
install the kernel?

[Bug 102309] Re: desktop-effects sets workspaces to 1

2007-05-09 Thread Wraith
Work Around:

1. Open the Desktop Effects window
2. Enable Desktop on a Cube
3. Right Click on the Switcher
4. Left Click on preferences
5. Change the Number of Workspaces to 4
6. Close the Desktop Effects window

Problem Solved until the next time you open the Desktop Effects window.
