Ubuntu 11.10

The power-settings-ui is unusable. i miss also a lot of options. As an
example: no action on critical low battery is not configurable. This
option is very important to users with a broken battery. gconf-editor is
not a solution for daily things.

[Bug 749349] Re: no space left on /boot partition: mkinitramfs failure cpio 141 gzip 1

2011-05-02 Thread X181
To repair your system:
- The starting kernel was set to: Ubuntu 11.04, kernel 2.6.38-8-generic-pae
- Delete old and unused kernel-image to gain some space on /boot (probably
optional)
- Press ESC in your bootmanager (in my case GRUB) to start the correct
kernel:Ubuntu 11.04, kernel 2.6.38-8-generic
- The system should boot now correct
- Execute Computer Janitor to gain enough space on /boot
- Execute Update Manager to complete the update process
- To be shure every thing is correct I reinstalled the package initramfs-tools
(per Synaptic Package Manager)
- Use StartUp-Manager to set the default Kernel to: Ubuntu 11.04, kernel
2.6.38-8-generic
- Reboot and test

2010-05-05 Thread X181
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Description: A control, most likely the top gnome-panel, gets and keeps
the focus. Until now i didn't found a way to bring the control somehow
to release the focus again, except a reboot or probably log out - log in
.

The behaviour exists since the upgrade from 9.04 to 10.04. Since the
2010-04-29 it is occured three times.

To reproduce: Unknown, the last time i worked in firefox (i don't think
there is a relation)

Detailed behaviour:
- Keyboard input is on control, its not possible to enter text somewhere
- Its possible to open desktop icons, etc with the mouse
- Its not possible to move a window with the mouse
- Its possible to close windows with the mouse
- Its not possible to open gnome-panel items like menu, wlan, bluetooth, etc
- Its not possible to switch windows with alt + tab
- In the top gnope-panel there is alway a item marked (Applications, Places,
System, wlan, bluetooth, etc)
- Its possible to open the calendar in the panel

Description:
Ftp links containing username and password like
ftp://user:passw...@ftp.domain.com are not displayed as one clickable link if
the username contains the sign '_' (underscore).

Current behaviour:
The link is splited into two parts. Both of them are useless. The first link
ends before the first underscore in the username. The second goes from ':' to
the end.

Expected behaviour:
One clickable link for the entire url.

How to reproduce:
1. Set Edit > Preferences > Mail Preferences > HTML Messages > Plain Text Mode
to "Prefer plain" or "Only ever show plain"
2. Send a plain text email to you self. the body contains
ftp://u_ser:passw...@ftp.domain.com
3. You should now receive a email with the wrong formatted link.
