[Bug 885793] Re: .mkv .flv videos don't play in Totem Ubuntu 11.10
Hi, I know this bug is old but still shows. The problem seems to be that certain CODECS are incompatible with FLV and MKV. If I reencode in another codec (ffmpeg) it plays correctly. I didn't find any problem at Maverick. The ubuntu-restricted-addons package (suggested at the beginning of installation) installs/recommends the icedtea plugin. It's a fork of Open JDK. Sun JDK/JRE is now in the partner repository.
