[Bug 2051041] Re: Regression: Ark unable to extract or view 7z after p7zip to 7zip transition in noble

2024-06-05 Thread Xu Zhen
The patch at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468240#c13 is for
libarchive plugin, but even without it, ark can directly execute 7zip
program to read and decompress 7z files.

It's just because the output text of the 7zip program in the repository
has changed, causing ark to not recognize it and therefore unable to
view or decompress.

The patch I mentioned at #8 is enough for this issue. I have tested it
with 23.08.5-0ubuntu5

[Bug 1963850] [NEW] xcape-super-binding.desktop doesn't show in the autostart application list

2022-03-06 Thread Xu Zhen
Public bug reported:

/etc/xdg/xdg-xubuntu/autostart/xcape-super-binding.desktop was added
into xubuntu-default-settings 21.10.3. It will be launched at session
startup, but it doesn't appear in the `Application Autostart' list of
xfce4-session-settings.

Since it will change the behavior of the super key, the users using the
super key as a shortcut in other applications may get confused.

The solution is easy: add one line `Type=Application' into the xcape-
super-binding.desktop, then it will appear in the list, and the affected
users can easily disable it.

Andrew, you did it wrong.

apt download libffi8 libffi8:i386
for d in libffi8*.deb; do
  dpkg-deb -x $d $d.dir;
  dpkg-deb -e $d $d.dir/DEBIAN;
  sed -i 's/Breaks: libffi8ubuntu1/Breaks: libffi8ubuntu1 (<=

done
sudo dpkg -i libffi8*.deb

And after the installation, do not update libffi8 again until a new version out.

Provides: libffi8ubuntu1 (= 3.4~20200819gead65ca871-0ubuntu5)

a version clause should be added to the Breaks field to avoid the conflict

[Bug 994739] Re: wireless takes several seconds longer to connect from standby

2012-07-10 Thread Xu Zhen
Pau, It seems that your patch made my atheros card fail to find the AP.

I upgraded wpasupplicant from 1.0-2ubuntu1 to 1.0-2ubuntu2 today.
after reboot, my card cannot connect to the AP.

I run
sudo /sbin/wpa_supplicant -Dwext -iwlan0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -dd
to see what happend, and I got these:

...
Scan SSID - hexdump_ascii(len=7):
XX XX XX XX XX XX XX ***
wlan0: Starting AP scan for specific SSID(s)
Scan requested (ret=0) - scan timeout 10 seconds
EAPOL: disable timer tick
EAPOL: Supplicant port status: Unauthorized
RTM_NEWLINK: operstate=0 ifi_flags=0x1003 ([UP])
RTM_NEWLINK, IFLA_IFNAME: Interface 'wlan0' added
WEXT: if_removed already cleared - ignore event
Wireless event: cmd=0x8b19 len=16
wlan0: Event SCAN_RESULTS (3) received
Scan results did not fit - trying larger buffer (8192 bytes)
ioctl[SIOCGIWSCAN]: Argument list too long
wlan0: Failed to get scan results
wlan0: Failed to get scan results - try scanning again
...

after downgrade to 1.0-2ubuntu1, using the same command, I got these:

...
Scan SSID - hexdump_ascii(len=7):
XX XX XX XX XX XX XX ***
wlan0: Starting AP scan for specific SSID(s)
Scan requested (ret=0) - scan timeout 10 seconds
EAPOL: disable timer tick
EAPOL: Supplicant port status: Unauthorized
RTM_NEWLINK: operstate=0 ifi_flags=0x1003 ([UP])
RTM_NEWLINK, IFLA_IFNAME: Interface 'wlan0' added
WEXT: if_removed already cleared - ignore event
Wireless event: cmd=0x8b19 len=16
wlan0: Event SCAN_RESULTS (3) received
Scan results did not fit - trying larger buffer (8192 bytes)
Received 7564 bytes of scan results (14 BSSes)
wlan0: BSS: Start scan result update 1
...

I checked the changelog of wpasupplicant, It showed that the only
difference between 1.0-2ubuntu1 and 1.0-2ubuntu2 is
fix_driver_wext_for_broadcom_wl.patch
