[Bug 877408] [NEW] Xubuntu 11.10 installation aborts with the official ISO CD

2011-10-18 Thread Yannick Le Guen
Public bug reported:

Xubuntu 11.10 installation aborts anormally after a while, I think it's just
after saving data on the hard drive.
My CD checksum is good, I tried to install Xubuntu 11.04 and I have exactly the
same error.

Both Ubuntu and Kubuntu installations are OK.

[Bug 861532] [NEW] Network issues with r8169 ethernet driver

2011-09-28 Thread Yannick Le Guen
Public bug reported:

I'm using an updated Ubuntu 11.10 beta 2.

I don't know exactly when this issue appeared. First I fought this was an issue
with Firefox.
Actually, when I'm connected with my Realtek ethernet card (with a r8169
driver), I am disconnected and reconnected very often (web pages suddenly don't
load anymore, Dropbox icon becomes gray, and sometimes it's difficult to
download some updates).

When I turn off my ethernet card and connect with my wireless card,
everything works fine.

[Bug 840998] [NEW] Epson SX420W is declared as not connected when I want to print

2011-09-04 Thread Yannick Le Guen
Public bug reported:

I'm using an updated Ubuntu 11.10 beta 1 (amd64).

I have an Epson SX420W printer/scanner. I tried both the free and the
proprietary drivers that Jockey displayed, and I tried to connect the
printer with both USB and network.

In every case, the drivers are installed correctly and the printer looks ready,
but each time I start a print job, I have the following notification : Printer
EPSON - Epson SW420W series may not be connected.
The strange thing is that the scanner works fine with SimpleScan.

In Ubuntu 11.04, with cups 1.4.6, I use the same proprietary driver that
is proposed in Oneiric, and everything works fine.

I think this bug report is not exactly a duplicate of bug #781384.

The issue is almost the same, but it affects Ubuntu Oneiric (not Natty)
and every window theme, including Ambiance and Radiance (which are not
affected by the bug #781384).

[Bug 837467] [NEW] fglrx : every window seems to have the focus with Unity 3D

2011-08-30 Thread Yannick Le Guen
Public bug reported:

I am using an updated Ubuntu 11.10 alpha 3 and I installed the fglrx driver
with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 graphic card.
With the radeon driver, I don't have the following problem.

Window decorations are not working properly, every window seems to have the
focus (while it's not the case, of course) and window buttons are not
highlighted when the mouse cursor goes over them.
This bug doesn't appear if a window is maximized, it only happend with
non-maximized windows.
I tried different window themes (Radiance, Ambiance and even some other ones)
but the issue remains present.
With Unity 2D, everything is working good.

I joined a screenshot.

I applied the latest updates today (some mesa and libgl updates) and I

[Bug 822209] [NEW] Windows buttons are not highlighted whith the mouse cursor

2011-08-07 Thread Yannick Le Guen
Public bug reported:

In Unity 3D session, when I move the cursor on a window button (minimize,
maximize or close button), the button is not highlighted as I expected.
The button look doesn't change when I move the cursor on it, but I can click on
it and it's responsive.

It happens only with floating windows. When a window is maximized, the
buttons in the Unity panel are highlighted when I move the cursor on
them.

I tried several window bar themes (Ambiance, Radiance and unofficial
themes) but the issue remains present.

In Unity 2D session, I don't have this issue.

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10, with Unity 4.6.0.

[Bug 822209] Re: Windows buttons are not highlighted whith the mouse cursor

2011-08-07 Thread Yannick Le Guen
Actually, I am using the radeon driver.

And I just discovered something else : with multiple windows, every
window seems to have the focus. The window decoration is the same for
each window, for example there are no gray buttons for a non-focused
window with the Ambiance theme.

2011-08-07 Thread Yannick Le Guen
I join a screenshot with 2 windows that are having the focus.
I moved my mouse on the maximize button of the terminal window (the cursor is
invisible in the screenshot).

[Bug 819389] Re: [fglrx] screen goes black after logging in on ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850

2011-08-06 Thread Yannick Le Guen
This bug affects me too.
I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 graphic card, not a 5850, but the symptoms
are the same.
Logging in Unity 3D brings me to a black screen with some small rectangles
where I can see a part of the wallpaper.
Logging in Unity 2D works perfectly.

[Bug 818630] Re: [fglrx] Unity panels fail to show and cause black squares to appear

2011-08-06 Thread Yannick Le Guen
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 819144 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/819144

This bug affects me too, I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 graphic card.
I don't have any other dock than the Unity one.

The symptoms are exactly the same : when I log in Unity 3D with LightDM,
I have a black screen with small rectangles of the regular wallpaper. I
can click on the session menu ang logout, but I can't access any other
indicator.

Unity 2D session is working perfectly.

[Bug 748080] Re: ATI card fan is always on with opensource radeon driver

2011-08-06 Thread Yannick Le Guen
This bug affects me too, since Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx.

I am now using Ubuntu 11.04 and the bug is still present, so I decided
to use the fglrx driver to speed down the fan.

I installed Ubuntu 11.10 alpha 3, and the issue is still present.

[Bug 819144] Re: [fglrx] everything is black and blinks when using unity

2011-08-06 Thread Yannick Le Guen
I have the same issue with the fglrx driver and an ATI Radeon Mobility
HD 4650 graphic card.

When I log in from LightDM to Unity 3D, I have a black screen with some
small rectangles of the wallpaper. I can click on the session menu and
log out, but windows appear with black areas, just like on the
screenshot of #3.

Unity 2D session is working good.
