[Bug 446657] Re: Bluetooth's on/off status doesn't update from the SetProperty D-Bus method that bluetoothd sends
I'm on Ubuntu 14.04, a Toshiba Portégé Z830 with Atheros bluetooth, gnome-bluetooth v 3.8.2.1. I can confirrm I'm still experiencing this issue for the past two or three years. Never seen it solved. After this uninstallation, now I get the dreaded message: GStreamer was unable to detect any sound devices. Some sound system specific GStreamer packages may be missing. It may also be a permissions problem. However, all the gstreamer packages needed are installed. My /dev/sndstat says, among other things, Card config: --no soundcards--. Thanks Naveen. I've tried to revert to former NM versions, but it didn't work. Bug is still there. [Bug 507268] [NEW] NetworkManager doesn't correctly probe Novatel XU870
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager Ubuntu release: 9.04, Jaunty network-manager 0.7.1 linux kernel 2.6.28-17 Broadband mobile card modem: Novatel Merlin XU870 What do I expect to happen? I expect left-clicking the nm-applet panel icon and seeing the mobile broadband connection I have configured. What happens instead? I don't see it. When investigating a little bit, I check that my card is properly detected by the system, the drivers (option, usbserial) correctly loaded and the device node (/dev/ttyUSB0) created. I can use the modem with, for example, pppd, and get online without problems. But network-manager ignores my card under the excuse that it hasn't probed mobile broadband capabilities. To be more precise, with the following messages: (ttyUSB0): found serial port (udev: hal:GSM) (ttyUSB0): ignoring due to lack of probed mobile broadband capabilities (ttyUSB1): ignoring due to lack of mobile broadband capabilities Which obviously isn't true, as when I manually run nm-modem-probe --verbose --export /dev/ttyUSB0, I get: modem_probe_caps(): GCAP response: +GCAP: +CGSM, +DS ID_NM_MODEM_GSM=1 ID_NM_MODDM_PROBED=1 main(): /dev/ttyUSB0: caps (0x9) GSM I've been modifying the /lib/udev/rules.d/77-nm-probemodem- capabilities.rules as suggested in bug 384344, but to no avail. [Bug 384344] Re: [3G] NetworkManager does not detect ZTE AC8710 CDMA/EVDO 3G USB Modem
Another couple of things. One is about what your comment, Naveen, on two cards having same id and vendor but being reported as having different capabilities, GSM and CDMA. Well, my card is a CDMA one, I'm positive about that, however NM reports it as GSM. I can only make a guess, fruit of my ignorance: maybe the NM report is related to the couple device+SIM? Thus, if we have a CDMA capable device but our ISP is only providing us GSM, might it be possible that NM reported GSM? Sorry if I'm talking nonsense, but the fact is that NM reports my card as GSM (while it's CDMA), and that presently I'm only getting GPRS connection from my ISP (I believe I might have exceeded the download limit above which they cut down the 3G speed to 2G). That might explain your case, Naveen, and I hope it explains mine! Because the other explanation I can think of is that, somehow, I've managed to damage my card (in one of those hotplugging- computer freezing-hotunplugging cycles). But would it still work? The other thing is more related with the bug itself: after upgrading network-manager to version 0.7.2, now I don't get the ID_NM_MODEM_GSM=1 but only the ID_NM_MODEM_PROBED=1 when nm-modem-probing it -- [3G] NetworkManager does not detect ZTE AC8710 CDMA/EVDO 3G USB Modem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384344 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 384344] Re: [3G] NetworkManager does not detect ZTE AC8710 CDMA/EVDO 3G USB Modem
Hi there. I'm newby here, so sorry if I'm writing in the wrong place. However, this is the most similar thread to what I need that I've been able to find in the net. I have a Novatel Merlin UX870 pc card (idxvendor=1410x1430) that I use as a modem. My OS is Xubuntu 9.04. My network-manager version is 0.7.1. My present linux kernel is version 2.6.28-17. So far, everything worked ok. When I plugged in my card, it got detected by the system, properly loaded the modules (usbserial and option) and created the device nodes /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1 (first one is the good one, the other I don't know its use), properly detected by NM, properly been able to create new mobile broadband connections with the applett netrowk-manager-gnome and, in general, all was happiness and joy. But suddenly, since some days ago, after I-don't-know-what-I-may-have-possibly-done, NM doesn't like my modem any more. The system still sees it, and I can, for example, manually configure and pon myconnection, and get online without problems. But NM refuses to accept the card. The only relevant thing I remember having done recently is replacing the 2.6.28-15 kernel with the 2.6.28-17, but I'm not sure if that's the problem, as I think that dates of replacement/issue don't match. Besides, I've tried with another one kernel (2.6.24-23) and problem remains. So, probably that has nothing to do. I've a badly broken memory (in my head, I mean, not in the computer), but I don't remember having installed or uninstalled anything relevant. So, I'm at a loss. Any clue? I'd very much appreciate some guideline or hint. Useful information for somebody out there who will like to help me: When plugged the card, or when restarted, NetworkManager logs that (ttyUSB0): found serial port (udev: hal:GSM) (ttyUSB0): ignoring due to lack of probed mobile broadband capabilities (ttyUSB1): ignoring due to lack of mobile broadband capabilities End of nm-modem-probe /dev/ttyUSB0 command says that modem_probe_caps(): GCAP response: +GCAP: +CGSM, +DS ID_NM_MODEM_GSM=1 ID_NM_MODDM_PROBED=1 main(): /dev/ttyUSB0: caps (0x9) GSM I've been modifying the /lib/udev/rules.d/77-nm-probemodem- capabilities.rules as suggested above in this post, tried all possible combinations, but NM insists in denying broadband capabilities to my card. [Bug 458319] Re: Individual Emails Disappear from Inbox on Exchange Server
Hey Paul I've been using Karmic since release day so far I haven't seen this issue. So hopefully its fixed. But then the problem only occurs every now and then so will wait and see. In terms of your other question your account information will still be there, you just re-open evolution. and it basically just resync's all your email, Obviously takes a while to complete, Also just mentioning the rm -r (the -r) is a recursive delete so the commands are deleting the exchange and the mail/exchange folders and everything in them. Hence why I change directory to .evolution first, Trust me the worst command on linux/unix is rm -rf * never use it :) -- Individual Emails Disappear from Inbox on Exchange Server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/458319 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 470090] [NEW] Karmic: Evolution tries to talk to the wrong exchange server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution-exchange The problem I notice has surfaced in the 2.28.1-0ubuntu1 version of the evolution-exchange connector on Karmic Koala Actually not really sure this is a bug but I have not had this problem since around Gutsy maybe even Edgy. The problem is I configure evolution with the OWA url http://euukflesvex01/exchange/ My username gets set as domain\first.last. I authenticate fine, i.e. no errors.. However the account then gets created with the exchange server being UKSUNSVEX01 and of course when I exit the account creation screen and evolution tries to retrieve mail, it wants me to authenticate to UKSUNSVEX01 which I do with the same password, but of course my mailbox is not on that server so authentication request keeps on happening. My work around was to hard code UKSUNSVEX01's address in /etc/hosts with the address for euukflesvex01 The work around works. [Bug 280897] Re: fsck is not helpful
Hi, thanks for reporting this bug. I am sorry that you fs got corrupted, however, let me give you a little background on how fsck works. Basically, any files that it CAN fix, it fixes and puts in the original place. And files that can't be fixed (eg, very badly corrupted sections) are moved to /lost+found, so if you want to try other programs yourself, you can use it on that folder. So basically, fsck was not able to fix anything, and I would daresay your whole volume is hosed. -- fsck is not helpful https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280897 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
