[Bug 522047] [NEW] gnome-panel does not auto re-spawn after being killed

2010-02-15 Thread ZykoticK9
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

In Karmic (and I believe other previous Ubuntu releases) if gnome-panel
was intentionally killed using xkill or killall gnome-panel, after a
moment the panel(s) would re-appear.

In Lucid this does not happen, and must be manually restarted by running
gnome-panel.

[Bug 521637] [NEW] Google.com is opening iGoogle instead

2010-02-14 Thread ZykoticK9
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: chromium-browser

When I enter the web address www.google.com (which typically resolves to
www.google.ca as I am in Canada) or www.google.ca, instead of getting
Google's main search page, iGoogle opens instead - the address is only
showing www.google.ca, and NOT www.google.ca/ig as would be expected
from regular iGoogle address.

The behaviour is NOT happening with Firefox or Google Chrome, only
Chromium.

I have tried logging in and out of iGoogle, rebooting system - but
cannot open Google's regular search page.

[Bug 521930] Re: Volume slider does not move

2010-02-14 Thread ZykoticK9
Sinani201, I suppose if this is not happening on your Lucid
installation then, no, I guess it's not reproducible.

I have a VirtualBox VM of Lucid, it already had the new Volume Applet -
after updates and restart the volume control was still working as
designed, so perhaps it hardare/software specific to my computer?

There was someone else in #ubuntu+1 today with the same greyed out
volume control mind you, so I'm not the only one.

I'm sorry but I don't have any further information to give? Is there
anything else you can suggest I check to shed more light on the
situation?

I will most likely reinstall a Lucid daily in the next few days if
situation continues - and report back if problem returns.

Sorry I can't be more help, any input welcome.
