I get exactly the same error with exactly the same parameters. But... I only get this at boot time, while postgres' automatic startup. If I do a '/etc/init.d/postgresql-8.3 start' later, it works without any error message! [Bug 225843] [NEW] [hardy] xnews (wine) does not display in windows list
Public bug reported: After upgrading Kubuntu from 7.10 to 8.04, Xnews running under wine disappeard from the windows list and from the panel at the bottom. I also installed a fresh 8.04 Kubuntu somewhere else and there's the same effect. Any other windows program I tried seems to be ok and displays in list and panel. Xnews itself works fine, it's just hidden from any window list.
