[Bug 2063888] Re: 24.04 unusable after Gnome-Tweaks change to the mouse pointer
I also ran into this problem by changing my cursor in gnome-tweaks to RedGlass (I later confirmed it also happens with other cursor themes, so seems it is not specific...). I am not sure if this can solve your problem with 22.04, but for anyone else who runs into this issue and lands here, I managed to recover by doing the following: 1. entering tty3 (cntrl-alt-f3) 2. logging in, 3. and then running the following to reset the cursor theme: ``` gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface cursor-theme 'Yaru' ``` 4. then reboot with `sudo reboot 0`. I don't know the cause, but hopefully this advice can help somebody... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2063888 Title: 24.04 unusable after Gnome-Tweaks change to the mouse pointer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2063888/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1749961] Re: xhci_hcd: TRB DMA errors reported with ASMedia ASM1142 USB 3.1 Controller
I'm also getting the above errors when trying to read from a 1080p60 USB3 webcam. It seems I have some information not mentioned above. It seems to be missing a "Transfer Event" after each "Normal" packet. It's not about the LINK TRB because it doesn't work for long enough to get to it (there's plenty of zeroed out descriptors at the end of both rings, which I've omitted). This is likely an ASMedia firmware/hardware issue, though this card (& camera) works fine on the same machine when running Windows. I saw mentions that ASMedia would be releasing a firmware fix, but I've updated to what I believe to be the latest and it didn't help at all. Has anyone found a firmware that works? [Bug 1772014] [NEW] netcat-openbsd does not allow setting source port
Public bug reported: When connecting to a remote host, both the command-line help and man- page state that specifying `-p` will set the local port number. However, when I actually attempt to do it, only the usage text is printed: $ nc.openbsd -p 12345 localhost 12345 usage: nc [-46CDdFhklNnrStUuvZz] [-I length] [-i interval] [-M ttl] [-m minttl] [-O length] [-P proxy_username] [-p source_port] [-q seconds] [-s source] [-T keyword] [-V rtable] [-W recvlimit] [-w timeout] [-X proxy_protocol] [-x proxy_address[:port]] [destination] [port] This appears to be caused by an erroneous check on line 541 of netcat.c, introduced by `misc-failures-and-features.patch`. If I remove the check or undo the patch completely, the source port is set correctly, but remains bound after I close the connection. [Bug 1590844] Re: Bluetooth headset not working with Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition
I just wanted to say that i can confirm that issue on the Pro5. I have two Pro5 and also a MX4. The MX4 works fine in my car when connected to the bluetooth (well except that sometimes the mic gets muted for whatever reason) Both Pro5 instead cant be used for telephoning in the car by connected through BT. You can only hear soughing instead of the participant so its not useable. As this bug is on critical anyway i dont need to state again that this is a major one. If i can do anything to help you guys please let me know, like i said i have a working BT on MX4 and soughing BT on both Pro5. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1590844 Title: Bluetooth headset not working with Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1590844/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1575301] Re: GPU Hang [i915 / drm] crashes whole session; triggered by LibreOffice dialog boxes (regression)
Installing xserver-xorg-video-intel fixes the crashes, but then the display is not always refreshed properly. Re: [Bug 1040557] Re: UEFI boot live-usb bricks SAMSUNG 530U3C, np700z5c laptop
Blacklisting the samsung-laptop module in UEFI mode fixes the related but separate issue of the kernel crashing on bootup. The root cause of the bricking was that Samsung's firmware had an undocumented requirement of 5KB of free UEFI variable space to be able to start up. The kernel crash would cause a log dump, which could cause the variable store to be filled beyond this limit. (Matthew Garrett provided a more detailed report in his blog last year: http://mjg59.dreamwidth.org/25091.html ) Handling of UEFI variables was changed in the kernel (in Ubuntu 13.10 and newer), and Samsung supposedly made fixes to their firmware, so the bricking issue is fixed. As far as this bug is concerned, the installation procedure is to update your firmware to the newest version and then install Ubuntu as usual. Driver support for particular laptop models should probably be addressed in separate bug reports. On 23 May 2014 21:05, Theis Christensen christensen.th...@gmail.com wrote: the so called fix has been there for over a year, what is the status on this bug? is it closed and people has accepted that they have a laptop where not all features are working, or is someone working on it? -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1040557 Title: UEFI boot live-usb bricks SAMSUNG 530U3C,np700z5c laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-cdimage/+bug/1040557/+subscriptions -- Aki Rossi -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1040557 Title: UEFI boot live-usb bricks SAMSUNG 530U3C,np700z5c laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-cdimage/+bug/1040557/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 1040557] Re: UEFI boot live-usb bricks SAMSUNG 530U3C, np700z5c laptop
No. Despite not directly causing the bricking, the samsung-laptop driver will only work in CMS mode and will cause random and potentially very bad problems when running under UEFI. The driver support issue is separate from this bug. Sometimes the system freezes complete, desktop, mouse and keyboard are stocked. [Bug 310910] Re: Snap lines not deleting in OOo Draw
No problem mate. Thank you a lot for filling the missing info! ** Description changed: To recreate this bug: 1) Open Open Office.org Draw 2) Make sure that snap lines are visible from the view menu. 3) Insert a snap line (Insert-Insert Snap Point/Line...) 4) There are two minor variations on the bug: a) Right click the snap line, and choose Edit Snap Line... from the drop down menu. Type in a new value, and click OK... this will actually create a NEW snap line, and leave the old one where it was. This is not a drawing error (though OOo is full of those) - both the old and new snap lines are hot zones, and things still snap to both of them. b) Right click the snap line, and choose Delete Snap Line from the drop down menu. The snap line will just remain where it is. I've tried saving the file and reopening it... Inserting new pages, etc. etc. but the problem is persistent. Once you have a snap line in OOo Draw, it's currently there forever, and the only way to move it in manually. That's totally unnacceptable for the kind of precise DTP work I want to use it for (things need to be exactly where I want them on the page, exactly in line for printing and aesthetic purposes). + + Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex + Open Office 3.0.0 + OOO300m9 (Build:9358) + Package: + openoffice.org-core 1:3.0.0-2ubuntu1 -- Snap lines not deleting in OOo Draw https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310910 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 310240] Re: Pidgin running but window not appearing
Thank you for filling the bug info, to be more precise. ** Description changed: - Binary package hint: pidgin + Binary package hint: Pidgin 2.2.1 I am using Ubuntu 7.10. Not sure what version of Pidgin I'm using as it won't appear. When I click on the Pidgin icon, a task appears Starting Pidgin Inern... for about 10 seconds and then disappears. When I check the processes, I see pidgin running: nathan...@sundesk:~$ ps -ef | grep pidgin 1000 12024 1 0 09:46 ?00:00:00 pidgin 1000 12366 12348 0 09:50 pts/000:00:00 grep pidgin But no window appears. This problem comes up from time to time and then fixes itself. I use a dual monitor setup but I often boot up with only one monitor as the other monitor is the TV. Could pidgin be confused about where to appear? [Bug 310273] Re: Please allow VM console toolbar/menu to be toggled on/off
Thanks for filing a bug report. The missing feature for toggling toolbar/menu on/off is not actually a bug, but it is a missing feature of virt-manager. A feature nice indeed it would be for laptop users. Because virt-manager is a project from RedHat, it would be more right place to file a bug request to RedHat bugzilla, instead of Ubuntu bugs. ** Changed in: virt-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- Please allow VM console toolbar/menu to be toggled on/off https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310273 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 310240] Re: Pidgin running but window not appearing
Thanks for reporting a bug. Your bugreport is missing a package version. For developers knowing a version of package is a must to have, before they can begin working with a bug. If possible could you edit the bugreport and include version of pidgin in your use. You can do it by opening Applications - Accessories - Terminal, and typing the following command there: piding -v Thanks for your efforts. ** Changed in: pidgin (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Pidgin running but window not appearing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310240 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
