[Bug 1021517] Re: Xorg-server crashes reproducible with GIMP usage
I confirm. On Ubuntu 12.04.2 (fully updated) on ThinkPad T430 this issue is present when touchpad is disabled. Enabling it by : dconf write /org/gnome/settings-daemon/peripherals/touchpad/touchpad- enabled true "solves" the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1021517 Title: Xorg-server crashes reproducible with GIMP usage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gimp/+bug/1021517/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1136592] [NEW] update-grub-gfxpayload should not use files ending with a "~" (backups of edited files)
Public bug reported: The title is self-explanatory. After editing a file in /use/share/grub- gfxpayload-lists/blacklist/ a backup file is left by almost every text editor. This backup file should be omitted by update-grub-gfxpayload. It isn't. ** Affects: grub (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1136592 Title: update-grub-gfxpayload should not use files ending with a "~" (backups of edited files) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub/+bug/1136592/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1136575] Re: Mistake in "10_proprietary-graphics-drivers" file prevents splash from showing on boot
OK, it might be a duplicate of bug #1057093. It turns out that this "mistake" was on purpose (not that I like it). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1136575 Title: Mistake in "10_proprietary-graphics-drivers" file prevents splash from showing on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-updates/+bug/1136575/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1136575] [NEW] Mistake in "10_proprietary-graphics-drivers" file prevents splash from showing on boot
Public bug reported: Splash screen (plymouth) stopped showing during boot after installing nvidia-current-updates driver package in Ubuntu 12.10 (fresh install). In grub console (the one activated by pressing "c" in grub menu) I have managed to find out, that the $linux_gfx_mode environmental variable is set to "text" and I thought that it might be the cause. I have traced this through several files of grub2 script structure: /boot/grub.cfg -> /etc/grub.d/10_linux -> /boot/grub/gfxblcklist.txt -> /usr/share/grub-gfxpayload-lists/blacklist/10_proprietary-graphics-drivers (which is a symbolic link to /etc/alternatives/i386-linux-gnu_grub_fb_blacklist) I believe that this last file belongs to this package (at least this package is mentioned in this file), which is why I am reporting this bug here. The last two lines of this file say something like: #Example: blacklist all NVIDIA graphics cards v10ded.*sv.*sd.*bc03sc.* I think that the last line should be commented, since it is only meant to be an example. Doing this, and running update-grub-gfxpayload and then update-grub solves the problem for me. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-updates (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1136575 Title: Mistake in "10_proprietary-graphics-drivers" file prevents splash from showing on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-updates/+bug/1136575/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 945685] [NEW] Writer crashes when trying to change name of autotext entry
Public bug reported: I'm using Libreoffice Writer 3.4.4 installed from Ubuntu Software Center on freshly installed Ubuntu 11.10 (no dist-upgrade). What happened: I was trying to change the name of autotext entry to other name but with the same shortcut. Writer immediately crashed with a message: "terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::container::ElementExistException'". Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Writer. 2. In any document write anything, eg. "test" and select it. 3. Choose form the menu: Edit> Autotext.. 4. Enter a name, eg. "test" for a new autotext entry and a shortcut. You may leave the automatic shortcut which was genarated ("t") as is. 5. Press Autotext button on the right and select "New (text only)". This is essential, because the crash won't happen if you choose "New" option. 6. A new autotext entry will show up in "My Autotext" category. Select it. 7. Press the Autotext button again and choose "Change name" 8. A new window will show up. In the two lower boxes write the name to which you want to change the name of the new entry. The crash will happen immediately after you hit "OK" if and only if the new shortcut will be identical (case insensitive) with the old one. Ps.: I'm using polish locale, so i'm not sure about the exact menu item's names in english. I guess you'll figure it out. ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945685 Title: Writer crashes when trying to change name of autotext entry To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/945685/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 943003] [NEW] Top menu in Unity occasionaly doesn't show up when hovering a mouse over top panel.
Public bug reported: Top menu in Unity occasionaly doesn't show up when hovering a mouse over the top panel. Normally it shows the focused window's title and top menu when mouse is over it. In my case It showed window title ok, but when hovering a mouse over it the title disappeared and nothing appeared instead (besides close/minimize/maximize buttons). This leaves user without any way to set preferences or anything which is't available through buttons of main window. Unfortunately i was not able to reproduce this bug yet. Unmaximizing, switching desktop, closing and opening firefox again didn't do the trick. The problem gone away after logging out of unity session and logging again.
